Chapter 16: Vanessa's disappearance

Tyler POV:

Beep beep beep

I rolled over and turned off my alarm. I looked at the time

5:00am

Lets go

I get up and made my way to my cupboard where I got my gym clothes out. I made my way downstairs, got a banana for the way. I hoped on my car and drove off. I was exhausted, I got home late after spending the day at the hospital with her, but I still need to workout.

"Tyler finally, I started to think you weren't going to show up" I heard Kayden say

"I'm here now, aren't I?" I complained. I'm not really in the mood to deal with Kayden's jokes today

"Relax, no need to be rude" he joked

"Shut up and lets get to work Kayden" I responded punching the jumbo bag

"Yes boss" he laughed

I punched the jumbo bag once again, hard enough to make Kayden step back

"Calm down there" Kayden said "Do you want to talk about it?"

"No" I replied

"Is it the girl at school?" he asked

"It's non of your business Kayden" I said

"She is actually really cute, if you don't make a move then I wouldn't hesitate to..." he said

"Back of Kayden, I mean it" I replied punching the bag even harder

"Alright, I was just being honest. do you think I might have a chance?" he asked once again

I punched the bag harder this time making him fall backward

"You come near her and I will re-arrange you face" I said frustrated

who does he think he is?

After 2 hours of hard work, I made my way back home and head to the shower. After a long shower, I get dressed and make my way downstairs to get breakfast

I'm starving

"Good morning" she said

"Good morning mom" I replied, giving her a kiss on the cheek

"How was practice this morning?" she asked

"It was good, Im just a bit tired" I lied

"You do look tired" she said "Do you want a smoothie?

"Yes please" I said taking a sit

"Good morning" he said

Agh I hate him

"I better get going" I added,

"What about you Smoothie?" my mom asked

"Sorry maybe next time, I remember I promised Vanessa I was going to help her" I lied getting up and making my way toward the door. I got in my car and drove to school.

Ring, ring

Just on time

"Tyler have you seen V today?" asked Daniel

"No not yet, why?" I asked

"She hasn't picked up her phone and her sister said she left her house already" he said looking worried

"Maybe she went for a drive, she'll be fine dude dont worry!" I said trying to calm him down a little "I have math soon, maybe she will be in, if she is, I'll let you know okay" I added

"Thanks" he said

I walked to my Math class, hoping to see her there, but there is no sign of her.

Where is she?

She doesnt look like a girl who would miss school

What if she is in some type of trouble?

Stop it Tyler, she's fine

Why do I care about her anyways?

"Mr Scott, do you know where Miss Smith is?" asked Mrs Griffin

"No, I haven't seen or heard of her" I said honestly

"All right, how is tutoring going?" she asked

Shit I completely forgot

"Good" I lied

"Let Miss Smith know that we will be writing a test next week, I'm expecting her to get at least a C, or she might fail" she reminded me turning back around

"I'll let her know" I confirmed

I need to help her get that C

Since when are you this nice Tyler?

The end of the day came and still no sign of Vanessa, and Daniel is worried sick. Her sister and Aunt are as worried as Daniel.

Maybe there is a reason why they are so worried about her

Daniel said if she doesnt answer her phone or show up by 8PM they will call the police

Is that even necessary?

It's now 5:15PM and still no sign of Vanessa. Daniel and I drove to Vanessas house to see how her Aunt and sister are doing, and they still havent found her. Her Aunt invited us for dinner, and we couldnt deny it, so we stayed.

We heard the door being unlocked and we all looked toward it. The door opened and she walked in

"Vanessa Rose Smith where have you been?" asked her Aunt

"I... I went to see dad" she answered looking a bit sad and angry I couldn't tell, it was mix emotions

Her dad? Why is it a big deal?

"Oh, Vanessa. next time just worn me please" said her aunt hugging her tightly "You should have told me, I thought they found you and took you away, I was worried sick" answered Lucy almost crying

Who's they and why would they take Vanessa?

I'm so confused.

"Promise me you'll never scare me like that again" Emily, her little sister begged her while hugging her tight

"I promise Em, I'm sorry if I scared you" Vanessa apologised

"You did, but how is he doing?" Em asked

"He is holding on. he misses you a lot and I told him about the accident and he was honestly really proud of you" Vanessa explain

And yet I'm still confused as fuck

What accident?

"Vanessa, I was worried sick. I was literally asking everyone who walked past me if they saw you. but Tyler kept me calm somehow" Daniel said pointing towards me

"I'm sorry, I'll take you with next time" she apologised

"You better" Daniel said hugging her

Why is this such a big deal? she just went to visit her father why were they so worried

"Hey, thanks for keeping Daniel calm" she said

"No problem" I said

"Well I need to go, so see you tomorrow" I said

"Say hi to Tessa for me" Daniel said

"I will do so" I replied getting my keys and leaving Vanessas house
