Chapter 25: The News

Vanessa POV:

Daniel and Tyler left and I kept wondering what I should do next. I found enough information to get my father out and put Vladimir in prison instead, but if they are keeping an eye on me they will know I did something and when my father gets out the Venom will make our lives a living hell

What should I do?

I need to do something.

But what?

Beep beep beep

I rolled over and turn off my alarm, I pushed myself up and made my way to the bathroom. I get dressed, brush my teeth and my hair and make my way downstairs for coffee.

"Good morning Nessa" I heard Emily say

"Good morning Em, how did you sleep?" I asked

"I slept well, how about you?" she replied

"Good thanks, where is Aunt Lucy?" I asked looking around for my Aunt

"She had work early in the morning, so she asked if I can ride with you and Daniel today" my sister responded

"Of course" I answered "Daniel will be here anytime, finish your breakfast"

"Yeah, by the was I need to stay after school to do a project with Sophie so I'll be home late" my sister said

"I have practice anyways so when your done let me know so I can pick you up" I said

"Alright"

Walking down the school corridor I still couldnt stop thinking about that hard drive we found.

What am I going to do? I asked myself.

"Earth to Nessa!!" I heard Cole yell bringing me out of my thoughts.

"Sorry, I wasnt listening" I apologised.

"its okay, are you coming to the movie night tomorrow?" Cole asked.

"Yeah" I replied

"Daniel, Tyler, I need to talk to you" I said looking at the boys. Tyler, Daniel and I found a peaceful place to talk.

"What's up Nessa?" asked Tyler.

"Listen, Daniel I need you to take Emily home after school and dont wait for me-" I was saying before Tyler interrupted me.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

"To visit my Father, this is where you come in Tyler can I borrow your car?" I asked hoping he would say yes.

"Fine" both boys agreed.

Did Tyler really let me drive his car?

I wasn't expecting that

"Lets go!" Tyler said, walking toward the parking lot followed by me.

"Thanks for letting me borrow your car" I said

"I'm driving" he said entering the drivers sit and slamming the door before I could argue.

I walked to the other side and got in. I knew it was too good to be true.

"Tyler, I can go by myself" I argued

"Nope" he disagreed.

"Why not?" I argued back, but he just ignored me and drove. "Tyler, answer my question please. Why?" I repeated.

"Because I don't want anything to happen to you okay" he said "I- if anything happens to you it will ruin Daniel and I know he would blame himself" he finished

What else did you expect him to say Vanessa?

"Okay fine" I whispered

The drive to the prison seemed shorter than it did last time. Maybe because I couldn't stop thinking about everything I found "Stay in the car, I'll be right back" I said getting out of the car and making my way inside the prison. When I got there I asked to speak to my father and I waited until they called me in

My palms got sweaty, and I felt my pulse quicken. I walked into the room and picked up the phone waiting for him to join. After a few minutes I saw two police officers bring my father in, he set down and picked the other phone up.

"Hi dad" I whispered my eyes wet with tears

"Hi sweetheart. What brings you here?" he asked

I took a deep breath and thought about what I was going to say

"Dad, I found the hard drive. I have enough evidence to get you out of here, but I was thinking of going to the Scorpions and ask them for help but I just don't know how to do it" I finally said

"Listen Vanessa, this is what you're going to do. You are going to visit the Scorpions at the safe house, they should be at the save house outside town, the one we would always go. you'll show them everything thats in there." He ordered.

"But what if they refuse to help?" I questioned.

"They won't" he confirmed.

"how do you know?" I murmured.

"I don't know, but if you don't try, we will never know" he clarified.

"Okay" I whispered.

"Listen Vanessa, I have something to tell you, this was something your mom was supposed to tell you but we both know that's not possible." He said looking solemn.

He is scaring me.

"What is it?" I asked distressed.

"I don't want you finding this out from anyone else. You have a brother!" he finally said taking a deep breath. "I'm sorry we didn't tell you sooner, but we just wanted to protect you, but I thought you should know. I can't protect you from behind bars so you should keep an eye open"

"Wait hold up! I have a what now?" I asked in disbelieve

is he joking with me right now because if he is that's not really a nice thing to do especially at serious moments like this

but he looks dead serious about this

I'm scared and confused at this point

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, but I thought there was no need to tell you, but I can see that I'm wrong now" he said

shit he is serious
