Ginny handed Cosette a glass of water before sitting down at the end of her bed with her legs crossed. There was a bit of tension in the room seeing as the last actual conversation Cosette tried to have with Ginny, she snapped at her for trying to get involved with her relationship.

Cosette didn't really want to bring it up, especially with how the night ended. Clearly Ginny didn't end up going home with Nick but Cosette couldn't help but wonder if that was a possibility.

"So what happened?" Hermione asked, wanting to fill the silence. She was leaning against the door with her arms crossed, looking to Cosette for an answer. "One second everything is fine and the next, George is throwing punches at Ben."

"Yeah," Cosette breathed out, trying to avoid eye contact with both of them. She really didn't want to keep lying, but there was a way for her to tiptoe around the truth. They didn't need to know everything. "I wasn't really at his side for a while and he just got this idea in his head that I was with someone else and tried to slut shame for it. Which is fucking stupid because he was the one who kept talking to everyone else instead of talking to me but then as he was making these comments, George overheard and tried to ask him to leave but Ben just got more aggressive and wouldn't back down and well, we all know George. He's not really one to back away from a fight."

"I just can't believe what Ben said," Hermione shook her head, "Bringing up Fred like that. He's such an asshole, I'm sorry that you slept with him."

"I didn't," the truth slipped out and Cosette noticed the confused stares from both of them. She quickly cleared her throat, "I mean, I didn't sleep with him again. It was just the one time."

She couldn't even keep up with her lies anymore.

Ginny seemed convinced, but she was also still a little intoxicated, "So I guess you're done with him now then, yeah?"

"Definitely," there was no question about it for Cosette. Even if she hadn't slept with George, it didn't make any sense to keep stringing Ben along. He wasn't who she ever wanted.

"Can I ask," Hermione started cautiously, "Did Ben see you talking to another guy? Like where did these insults come from?"

Cosette shrugged her shoulders. There was no way that Ben had actually seen her with George, he just automatically assumed based off the way they came back into the party at the same time. "I have no idea, honestly."

Hermione nodded slowly to herself before raising her hand to her mouth to cover a yawn, "I'm going to head to bed. Hopefully we can all just get some sleep and forget about this night."

"Night 'Mione," Ginny and Cosette said at the same time. Hermione headed down the hallway towards where Ron's old bedroom used to be. It didn't even cross Ginny's mind to offer a different room for Cosette to sleep in. The two of them would always share a bed during girls night and tonight was no different, even if there was some uneasiness between them.

Cosette crawled under the covers and Ginny did the same after turning off the light. For a short while, neither of them said a word. Cosette could hear the crickets chirping away outside along with the creeks and various sounds that the burrow made on its own.

But when Ginny turned over on her side to face her, Cosette did the same.

"I'm sorry," Ginny whispered, looking everywhere except actually at Cosette. Since Cosette first came back to the burrow, she couldn't help but notice all the ways that Ginny had grown up. She matured during those years and she wasn't the same girl that she used to be.

But laying in bed, Cosette saw the characteristics of young Ginny poking through. She was timid and quiet and again, she was still drunk, but she wasn't yelling at Cosette which was a good sign.
