Troye P.O.V.

"Like hell he was" I muttered.

In my exhausted and broken state, I didn't really care that I had told Tyler these things. Though when I had gotten decent rest, I would probably regret it. Or maybe I wouldn't.

Silence grew between us. We were both lost in thought, thinking about what had been exchanged between us and how to react.

"So what are you going to do now?" Tyler asked. Out of all the questions he could have asked, he asked the one I hadn't thought out.

"Well, after you kick me out I'll probably go back to the hell hole and drop to my knees, begging for forgiveness" I said dryly. I wasn't being sarcastic.

"Why would I kick you out?" He asked.

I scoffed, still staring at the ceiling.

"After all I've said and done to you, I wouldn't be surprised. I might as well leave now."

I heaved myself up on my elbows. As I shifted my back, shocks ran up my spine. I hissed in pain, collapsing back onto the couch.

I sighed. How the hell was I going to get out of here?

"I'm not going to kick you out, no matter what you have said to me. You're injured and so I'm going to help you" Tyler stated.

"Ah, pity and sympathy, just what I needed. When my life is crumbling through my fingers, I need people to pick it up as it tumbles to the ground, never noticing that it just falls back down, abandoning me" I mused.

I liked to speak in riddles. They just show that one thing isn't always what they seemed to be, like my father.

I turned to face Tyler, expecting a sympathetic or confused look. Instead, I got a curious look, mixed with wonder.

"I will be sympathetic to you, but I never will abandon you, no matter how hard you try to get rid of me. After all, look how many times we've been placed together" Tyler promised.

I stared at him, wondering how such serious words could come out of a joker like Tyler.

I turned back to the ceiling.

"That's what they all say" I muttered.

The clock softly chimed, signaling midnight.

Tyler sighed. The couch creaked, soft footsteps padding along the floor.

"Can you move? Or do you just want to sleep on the couch?" Tyler asked.

"What about school and your mum?"

Tyler laughed lightly, a faint smile on his lips.

"Today's the weekend, silly, and my mum won't even notice. She'll probably just go straight to bed."

"Oh okay."

I wasn't sure how to react to his kindness. It was so foreign to me.

I heard a door open, and something light fell on me. A blanket.

"Goodnight Troye" Tyler called.

I hesitated.

"Goodnight Ty" I called back.

I swear I heard him giggle.
