Hertikan and Talis

Backstory:Hertikan was born on Shili, in a small village where everyone knew everyone. He was but a young boy when he was taken to the temple, but he was excited.
As a youngling, he was very excited about everything, having a hard time being still in one place, very curious and very talkative.
The excitment the young 12 boy had was barely containable when he got his master.
He talked a lot to him, being happy and made a secret, naive promise to himself to always do as his master asked to 110%.
Then came the unexpected for him.
His master was very abusive, and as Hertikan hade made a promise he did everything as told. When he was told he was stupid he agreed and pulled all nighters studying. When told he was worthless he agreed and worked on his skills with the force and his lightsaber. What was hard for him however was the physical abuse. He got beaten violently for talking too much, and more often than not it was in places not visible for other jedis to see. It was only visible that he became less and less talkative and social, and followed his master around like a puppy and followed his every order like a puppet on strings.
The final straw came when he was 21, when his master became furious because Hertikan finally talked back after 9 years of abuse. His master tied him up with chains in their quarters and physicly ripped off his montral. His screams were cancelled out by noise cancelling walls, but he reached out to everyone he could through the force to share his pain in a desperate call for help before passing out. Just before his other montral was going to be ripped out as well, the council bursted in.
His master was executed for his grave crimes, and when Hertikan finally recoverd after a year, he was given the rank of jedi knight. The impact of his former master however was so grave that he refused to ever speak unless absolutely needed. Not even as rumors spread of how he lost that montral he spoke.
At age 25 he was given his first padawan to help him on his road to recovery. Marona Cast. She was quiet as well, though by nature, and they got along good. Two years was all they got together however, before she was shot in her shoulder by a droid while being on a mission on Hoth, and fell down in a ravine. It truly did break his heart, thinking she was gone. It wasn't until he was 32 that he saw Marona again, but by then she was known as Darth Rena, and he had been a master to Talis Kelio for two years.
At first, he struggled a lot with Talis, because she was talkative and naive, like he once was. He refused to be close to her, but slowly she grew onto him.

Weaknesses: Doesn't hear as good, pretty much deaf from the side with the missing montral, problems with balance, PTSD from his abusive master

Backstory: Talis' mother was a pleasure slave. She was forced from Shili to the lower levels of Coruscant where she was forced to work as a dancer and give pleasure to the one who payed her owner the most money.
One of those men was a politician, who was threatening both Talis' mother and the owner to run the place to the ground if he needed to wear protection, as he said that it was uncomfortable.
That's how Talis were made. However, as the owner saw Talis as a distraction and burden, he gave the ultimatum to either kill the child or hand her off.
Her mother got two days to decide and do the deeds, so what she did was to leave Talis by the jedi temple. She thought that the jedi would be kind hearted enough to help her find a home.
What was later found out by the jedi taking Talis inside was that the small child was force sensitive.
The temple was used with young children, but not newborn infants. Yet, they did everything they could, and Talis grew up to be very ideal for a jedi.
At the age of 11 she was on the top of her clan in her force studies, while she was also decent with a sword.
When she was 15, she was finally assigned a master, Hertikan.
She did notice him giving her the cold shoulder, and while she was hurt by that action she never stopped trying. She trained more, studied more, and tried to talk to him more. Then, she was told by master Windu the reasons for her master's absense to her. Fearing she was putting Hertikan in an uncomfortable position, she backed off and started being by herself and other masters instead, and talked less and less, especially to her master. It was then when Hertikan understood his impact on her, and finally decided to step up on his role.

Weaknesses: She needs much more training with a lightsaber, very extroverted and doesn't handle isolation well (comes from her togrutian side), extreme fear of dying alone, nightmares of the war so severe that Hertikan needed to share a room with her every time they left the temple

Other: Because she's a hybrid she's not capable of having kids of her own.
Once during a mission she was kidnapped by pirates and was forced into isolation for so long that by the time she was rescued she was having such severe hallucinations that healers thought that she had gone truly mad, but Hertikan helped her pull through
