Backstory: When she was a newborn, Bucky rescued her from scientists. They had put her in a room filled with crosses on the walls, and without a second thought he took her in. He raised her as his own without a doubt, but never had the heart to tell her that she wasn't his biological child. She soon learned that parents required one mom and one dad to make babies, and Bucky made up a story about her mom being away on a long mission, and how it was too dangerous to keep in contact. Of course, as a child, she bought it, and forgot about the subject.
Her father raised her to be able to defend herself, and the Avengers helped to make sure her powers stayed in check.
Eventually, when she was 16, she used to sneak out with aunt Natasha to go on small missions during the night, or sometimes Natasha even busted her out of school. Bucky found out about it half a year later, and there was a huge fight between the two. Bucky was close to mentioning how she wasn't his, but stopped himself at the last second and left to calm down. The two sorted things out the next day, and they agreed to let her go on minor missions if they didn't interrupt school.
