Power(s): She can shoot a 2 decimeter long spike out of her back. The spike is poisonous, and she is able to dettache the spikes from her back and use them in combat

Backstory: Jones was born into a family of powers. However, it wasn't a good time. They were part of a secret organisation in a country so shelterd not even planes were allowed to fly over it. The world complied to that, which was a great advantage to the organisation as they owned the country located on a few islands out on the sea. Everyone on the islands had powers, and they had schools designed for them. However, they were taught on how they could take over the world, or how to destroy it. As most of them had powerful powers, that was something completely possible.
Jones didn't agree.
While every child was taught to fight, torture and slay their enemies, she simply couldn't being herself to no matter the pressure. It was close to her being expelled from school, and her father snapped. As a punishment, he took a knife and shoved it in her throat. Her mother was a healer and healed her, even though she agreed with her father. The way Jones was healed made her unable to speak again, and she was ridiculed by her siblings. She was 7 when that happend, but the scar never left her throat.
Later on in life, she found another like her, a boy who was also punished for thinking the life they lived was wrong. He had gotten his left arm cut off to the shoulder. She was 15 then, he was 16 and could manipulate water. So one night, they plotted their escape. They only took one change of clothes, two waterbottles each and a few proteinbars before they stepped into the water. He made an airbubble around them and walked on the bottom of the ocean. It took three days until they reached a shore in Peru, and the boy was so exhausted he died only a few meters before they were above water. Jones swam up with his body and a few kind locals helped her. One happend to be a spy for SHIELD, and contacted headquarters for the incident. It was clear soon enough that she was only able to speak sign language, so they brought in someone who could translate. She was flown to America for questioning, and she told them about everything. What she hadn't expected however was that SHIELD bombed the entire island until it was no more. She tried to escape them too, but that seemed to be impossible. But since she was so reluctant to SHIELD yet had nowhere else to go, Tony made the decision to let her stay with the Avengers. She made it clear that she could fight despite not being able to talk, and she got to join the team for emergency missions or the much smaller ones the public wasn't aware of. She later grew close to Vision, as was able to understand her without words and often stayed with her during rough nights that would otherwise turn sleepless.

Weakness: Mute, PTSD, nyctophobia, thalassophobia (from after the boy died and she had to swim with his body), allergy to whiskey (but no other alcohole)

Other: She was quick to bond with Tony like he was her father, so during the civil war she joined on Team Iron Man.
