Forming an unbreakable bond with a familiar I thought was going to be easy. I was very much so wrong. Familiars are interesting, apparently familiars can help witches with astral projecting, help with strengthening spells, and even different. Familiars are not chosen though, they choose you.

I glance at Nix and she looks at me. I wondered if she actually is my familiar or if she was just a magickly inclined pet. I ponder this for a moment.

"Nix, are you my pet or my familiar?" She tilts her head, "Thank you, Nix. Very useful." I roll my eyes and she growls at me. Wont lie thought I was gonna shit myself, cause holy shit she got mad.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry. Geez, you're the one who I need to sniff out something. Want me to just train you like a dog then get the telepathy? Cause we can do that!"

"What are you doing?" Hermione looks at me with a 'have-you-lost-your-mind?'.

"I, uh, well," I glance at the book in her arms. A forbidden section book. "W-what are you doing? Especially with a book like that!" Hermione's face turns red and she quickly changes the subject.

"I never did ask how your head was, I assume this is from the accident that you're talking to your... pet?"

"Pet? Nah, Nix is like a friend. She's.... She's just a wolf too."

"Right. Anyway, you comin' to lunch?"

"Yeah, yeah, I gotta go talk to Justin anyway, He's helping me train Nix."

"Oh, What are you training her for?"

"Just to get a better bond and have an appropriate familiar. Like Ron's rat seems pretty shockingly smart to me, ya know?"

"Yeah, now that you mention it Scabbers has been able to do things the average rat couldn't."

"Freaky Rat, man. Freaky Rat."

"You're not wrong."

"I'm typically not," This makes Hermione laugh and we chat down the hallways to lunch. I wave down Justin and he approaches me,
"Hey! I figured out how we should start training Nix!"

"Awesome, how are we going to manage it?"

Justin pulls out a bag with the label, "Peanut Butter treats for pets"

"Uh? Dog treats?"

"Yeah! So we'll start with the basics and then we'll end with her fully trained to sniff out anything!"

"Oh, how long will that take exactly?"

"Hmm, about two months,"

Two months?! That's too much time for that damn snake to kill someone!

"Is there anyway to, like speed that up?"

Justin gives me a look, "That's as fast as we can train her, unless you know of some magic spell to have her fully trained." he laughs, but my gears are turning at the thought. There was a spell for anything and everything, I just know it.

"Well, no, but maybe we could look into one later?"

"You seem really desperate to get Nix trained, what's up with you?"

"Nothing!" oh god please don't suspect I know things

"You know something, don't you?" Damn it.

"About what?"

"I'm not completely sure yet, but you know if you really want my help, I'd love it if you could tell me."
