"Bakit late ka?" bungad ni Elena pagkapasok ko.

"I overslept, sorry. Sino captain?" tanong ko habang inaayos ko ang maleta sa aming compartment.

"Perse..." maikling sagot niya, nakatutok ang mata sa cellphone.

"Bakit siya? Baka i-crash niya lang tayo," natatawang ani ko.

"Ikaw lang ihuhulog ko," napaayos ako ng tayo ng may magsalita sa aking likod. Nilingon ko ito at nakitang nakasandal si Perse sa pinto at nakahalukipikip, masama ang tingin sa akin.

"Tss, bakit ka nandito? Doon ka sa cockpit!" taboy ko sa kaniya.

"Donna, huwag mo akong daanin sa karapatan mo bilang sister-in-law ko. Captain ako ngayon---"

"Anong sister-in-law mo? Gago ka ba? Umalis ka na nga! Ang pangit mo! Tss, kaya ka iniwan, eh..."napasimangot ito.

"Parang siya hindi iniwan, ah?" I rolled my eyes at him and did not speak.

"Sapol," Elena muttered. Mabilis akong napalingon rito.

"Hindi ako affected, uy!" kumunot ang noo nito.

"Naglalaro ako kaya ko sinabing "sapol". Halata ka naman masiyado," they tsked.

"Don't worry, Donna baby. The long wait is over..." makahulugang sabi ni Perse at saka kami iniwan. Nagkatinginan kami ni Elena but she just shrugged and avoid my eyes.

Inabala ko na lamang ang sarili sa pagta-trabaho. Chineck ko ang mga lavatory at tinulungan ang mga pasaherong maglagay ng kanilang gamit sa overhead compartments.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome onboard Flight 86A with service from Manila to Los Angeles. We are currently third in line for take-off and are expected to be in the air in approximately seven minutes time. We ask that you please fasten your seatbelts at this time and secure all baggage underneath your seat or in the overhead compartments. We also ask that your seats and table trays are in the upright position for take-off. Please turn off all personal electronic devices, including laptops and cell phones. Smoking is prohibited for the duration of the flight. Thank you for choosing Delta's Airlines. Enjoy your flight." I announced.

When everything's set, I finally take a sit.

"Good afternoon passengers. This is your Captain Viglianco speaking. First, I'd like to welcome everyone to Delta's Airline. This is Flight 86A heading to Los Angeles, California. We will be in air for 12 hours and 55 minutes. Please be sure you are seated and your seatbelt is fastened...get ready for takeoff," nang umangat ang eroplano ay napabuntong hininga ako.

I miss my son already...

"Ladies and gentlemen, I have turn off the seatbelt sign, you can now enjoy our destination," muling namayani ang baritonong boses ni Perse.

"Gwapo talaga ni Cap!" rinig ko ang hagikhikan ng aking mga kasamahan sa gilid. Alam nilang magkakaibigan kami nila Perse at anila'y nakakainggit raw iyon. Tss, kung alam lang nila ang mga kalokohan ng crush nila.

"Trabaho muna bago lande," suway ko sa kanila. Natawa ako ng pabiro nila akong irapan.

I assisted the passengers and provided for their needs. I could already feel the pain in my foot because of the heels I was wearing but I just put that aside.

Inikot ko ang aisle at chineck kung nakaayos na ang kanilang mga seatbelts ng mag- announced ang Captain na maglaland na. Nang masiguro ay ako naman ang naupo at sinuot rin ang seatbelt.

"Ladies and gentlemen, on behalf of Delta's Airlines, I would like to welcome you to Los Angeles, California. Please enjoy your visit and make some memories. Thank you for choosing Delta's Airlines, have fun and safe trip!"
