"Because you will be the first female leader  and your father is the director of the board of directors" Tyler replied

"Sometimes it's tough knowing that I am a target for many even though I'm well protected by papa and you" I said walking closer to him so our chests our touching

"It's tough" I whispered resting my hands on his. Tears threatening to fall

"Uh well. It is tough but everyone is trying their best to protect you" he said reassuringly holding on to me. I leaned against him. My head resting against his chest

" Jane?" he whispered

"Hmm?" I asked

"Do you want to get back home?" he asked, rubbing my back in a reassuring manner

"Hmm" I replied

"Do you want me to carry you because you are making no effort to move away from me" he smirked

"Maybe" I looked at him feigned innocence

"Just tell me you want a taste of these arms" he said and lifted me up bridal style in one swift moment

" I think I have grown a liking to you" I whispered looking at him

"Everyone does" he replied and leaned down to kiss me I raised my head slightly and kissed him back, my hands on the nape of his neck

We heard a glass shattering  and broke up, he helped me down and we looked behind my back and saw a shocked papa with his mouth hanging open. I could feel the level of his anger slowly rising

"I can feel his anger rising" I whispered to Tyler

Then why are we standing here? Let's run" he whispered back

"If we run he will chop us head to toe" I whispered to answer him

"More like he'll chop me" he whispered back

"True" I muttered and he stared at me and gulped

"Both of you" he yelled and we cringed

"Are grounded" he yelled and Tyler looked at him in confusion

"You cannot ground me" Tyler said

"As your leader I can" he replied

"Wait nobody told me we are practically royalty in here" I piped in and both of them glared at me. I sneakily took out my phone and messaged Julia to rescue me from here. In five minutes she was here

"Christopher, Mr. Ross wants to meet Jane" she said to papa

"Okay, don't disappoint him" he said and she dragged me to the main hall as fast as she could

"Who's Mr. Ross?" I asked her

"He is a director" she replied and I nodded in realization

"What happened?  Why was he scolding both of you?" she raised her eyebrow as she took two flutes of champagne from a passing waiter

"Well, he kind of walked in on us while we were kissing" I admitted rubbing the back of my neck sheepishly and she gasped

"Let's go Jane" Tyler came out of nowhere

"He chewed my brain out" he said pointing to papa. While Julia burst into laughter, I scowled at him. He grinned and ushered me out of the hall and to his car where Taylor, Mrs. Hernandez and the others were waiting
