there are friends who only want to hear "good" after they asked how you are doing
there are friends that you'll have the best time with in school and still you will never meet them outside the time frame of 7:45am to 3pm
there are friends that will help you through difficult times of your life and two years later you'll only see their face by viewing their insta story
there are friends that once were so close but after all of you got older and changed you couldn't be more different from each other
there are friends who know your deepest 7th grade secrets but now wouldn't even say hi if you saw them on the street
there are friends who text you once or twice a year, to wish you a happy birthday and maybe even a merry christmas, if they aren't too busy
there are friends that turn into lovers that turn into friends again or that become strangers
there are friends that you won't hear from for months but as soon as you meet again it feels like you've just talked yesterday
and eventually there are friends that stick with you for years and despite things and people changed over time you are still as close as in 1st grade
there are different kinds of friends and that's okay
temporary friends are just as good as the ones that stay for a while longer because what really matters is the time you've spent with them, no matter how short or long this might be
