Miss Mystic Falls preparation

I approach Elena with Caroline by my side.

"Look, I'm your best friend and I would never pick sides, but are you sure that this is what you want? Because Stefan is your soulmate," Caroline blurts out instantly.

Elena glares at her.

I bite my lip glancing up at Caroline.

Caroline sighs, "Sorry. Picking sides."

Elena looks down, "It's not like I don't love Stefan anymore, but I can't deny that ever since I turned, my feelings for Damon have become more intense."

Caroline scoffs, "Yeah, I know. Stefan filled me in on all the gory Damon details."

"He did?" Elena asks in surprise, "Is he okay?"

I shake my head, "I don't think so. I think he's heartbroken."

"Well, what was I supposed to do? Lie to him?" Elena questions.

Caroline shakes her head, "No, but you weren't supposed to let Damon weasel his way into your confused newbie vampire heart."

Elena gives her a look of irritation, "Well, he did and that's exactly what I am. Confused. I need to figure out what these feelings actually mean."

The next day

I walk into the room April is in preparing for the Miss Mystic Falls Pageant in.

She holds up two dresses, a blue one and a red one.

Caroline, Elena and I, "Blue."

April looks a little startled, "Really? The blue seems a little safe."

Elena nods, "Safe is good when it comes to the judges."

Caroline agrees, "She's right. Gracie Lockwood had a three-foot slit her year and practically got laughed off the court."

I smile and laugh, stopping when I sense Damon by the door.

Caroline groans grabbing an object throwing it at him, "Get out!"
