"Mommy I need a tamponnnnn" Kennedi yelled from her room make me put my phone down and huff.
"Kennedi stop saying that."
"But mommyyyyyyy"
"Are your clothes on"
"No cause I need a tamponnnnn"
"Bruh oh my— you're six chile" I said getting up from my spot on the couch and making my way to her room.
"Ma where I'm going?" She asked slipping some tights on.
"To school now hurry up"
"But I don't wanna."
"Why not?"
"I keep telling you this woman" she said smacking her forehead. "Cause I need a tampon"
"I- Kennedi why do you need that?"
"Aunty niyah said it stops blood and my friend Kali was bleeding so maybe it can help" she said putting on some slip on vans.
"How about we just give her a band aid?" I said grabbing her coat and giving it to her.
"That works too" she shrugged putting the coat on.
"I want aunty laia to pick me up today"
"Call her and ask but you better hurry up cause we finna go"
She took off running grabbing her iPad.
"You got two minutes"
"Mommy mommy wait wait. That's not enough."
"You're wasting time" I said as she unlocked it and FaceTimed nylaia.
"Heyy baby wassup?" Nylaia said.
"Can you pick me up from school today pleaseee"
"Yeah sure. What time?"
"Hmmm. One.... two.... zero.... zero"
"No. 2:00" I said.
"But mommy—"
"But nothing" I said and she smacked her lips.
"Okay see you at 2" nylaia said.
"Bye bye" she mumbled hanging up.
"Let's go" I said and she rolled her eyes and stomped away.
I know not. I poked my foot out and she tripped over it making me laugh.
She got up and tried to mug me but tears were forming.
