Chapter 4 - The outlander who caught an outrider~ (Part 1)

(Y/N) POV -

You wake up in middle of the night after having a weird dream which you already forgot.

Hey you, you're fi-

"Ah ha! I managed to wake up before you could make any stupid references brain! (:"

"Wait, where's Aether?"

You could see Paimon sleeping next to you while using your wings as a blanket.

"Awww, she looks so cute when she isn't screaming or trying to eat me."

You gently pick Paimon up and cover her up using your cape and wander outside the cave to look for Aether. You spot him sitting under a tree and looking at the sky as you approach him.

"E-eh, did I wake you up?" he asked concerned about what you were doing here.

You shake your head as you sit beside him. You were wearing your mask so that you could understand him.

"Hmm, you want to ask somethig?" he asked.

You looked at him as he stared back waiting for a response. A painfully silent minute later he remembered.

"Shit, I forgot that you can't speak. S-sorry man, trust me I wasn't trying to be rude" he panicked. It was hilarious in a way. Seeing someone whose sister almost instantly defeated you in a fight acting so flustered for something he genuinely forgot. You pat his head to calm him down.

"So, you wondering what I was doing here?" he asked trying to act like he didn't like you petting his head.

You gave a small nod.

"Just had a bad dream about Lumine. I'm sorry if talking about her makes you unco-"

You stop him by wrapping your wings around the both of you as you stared into the sky. Yes, talking about Lumine was pretty bad for you but Aether had been separated from his twin, and the way he was talking about her during the day made you realize how sad he was. Your friend needed to let out some emotions and you would help him when he needed you. To be honest you couldn't exactly blame Lumine for what she did. After you saw your reflection in the river you were pretty shocked. Your face, hair, body, everything was different. If what Aether said was true and you looked pretty similar to this unknown god, you couldn't exactly blame Lumine for trying to kill you. You were still pretty salty about your fight though, as you should be.

Aether got the message you were trying to send and slowly started crying as both of you just sat there the whole night.

*Time skip*

Paimon POV -

"Paimon just woke up to find that her comfy blanket was missing!"

"Hmm, where did they go? AETHER! AETH- Oh, there you are...."

She saw both of you sleeping under a tree covered by your wings.

"Hey, no fair! Paimon wants to sleep with you guys too >:( " she shouted as she jumped on both of you.

I woke up to Paimon shouting about wanting to sleep with someone. I noticed that I was covered in something fluffy.

"AHHHHH, I'm sleeping with Asmoday! I know that he was just trying to comfort me but this feels so embarrassing."
