33-Twists And Turns

"It's been two hours Macy, what's going on?" Cedric asked

"Bridget and I have been trying to unlock her files but it's been taking forever," Macy said with a little frown

Cedric bit down on his lower lip thinking.

"Wait Macy let me try something," Bridget said

Bridgette's fingers tapped rapidly against the keyboard as she toggled with the security on the locked file.

"Got it!" Bridget said excitedly

Cedric grinned widely at the words.

"Let's see what's in her file," Cedric said

They looked into her file only to run into more disappointments. Her file was practically empty and only had her name and birthplace.

"Sh*t!" Cedric yelled

"This was a waste of time. It's been a week! We're taking too long to find Alora." Bridget said rubbing her temples

"Let's head back to the dining room to tell the rest of the team."

"Any good news?" Liam asked

"No, it was a f*cking dead file," Cedric said

"What?!" Annika yelled

"It's okay, calm down Annika. There's something we can do. I'm sure of it." Rome said

Meanwhile...At the hospital

Manuel held Mara in his arms gently as she cried.

"How could someone do this to our own son?!" Mara cried out

"Someone wants to break our family! I will not stand here and allow it!" Manuel said as he flared his nostrils in anger

Doctors rushed into the room as the beeping got louder.

"Axel!" Mara yelled out as Manuel continued to hold her

"He'll survive it, Mara! No one can kill the devil." Manuel said

"Please you two have to leave the room! We're losing him!" The doctor yelled out

Manuel helped Mara out of the room.

"They better not lose our son Manuel!" Mara screamed

"They will not lose him!"

Three hours later...

The doctor finally walked out of the room.

"Mr. and Mrs. Santiago, we're not sure what happened but your son is stable and has regained consciousness since the accident. I'm really surprised to say that he got out of the car before it blew up. Although he suffered very mild burns they'll heal in no time."

"Can we see him?!" Mara asked

"Yes, you can. He might be very sleepy so make sure to allow him to sleep when needed." The doctor said before leaving

Mara rushed to the room as happy tears fell from her eyes. Manuel laughed happily as he walked behind her and to the room.

"Oh! Axel My son!" Mara said hugging him tightly

"Mara relax!" Manuel said laughing

Mara let go and wiped the tears from her eyes.

"I'm sorry. I'm just so excited." Mara said

Axel sat up,

"Where's Alora?" He asked

Mara looked at Manuel who only scratched his head nervously.

"Where's Alo-" Axel paused and his eyes widened. He remembered the night at the banquet hall as his memories hit him like a train crashing.

"I need to find her!" He stood up

"No Axel! Sit down!" Mara rushed over to him and sat him back down on the bed

"I can't sit here! Someone has Alora!" Axel yelled

"I know but with your condition now she'll never be found," Mara said

"She will be if you let me go and find her myself!" Axel yelled angrily

Mara let out a deep breath,

"What should we do Manuel?" Mara asked

"Tell the doctor to discharge him," Manuel said

"What?!" Mara said yelling

"Mara, He's awake now. Lilith is a trained doctor who can heal his minor burns at home." Manuel said

"Fine but if anything happens to him I won't listen to you" Mara left the room to go and talk to the doctor

"My son Axel. I know how you feel about Alora. I don't want to stop you from what your heart desire." Manuel said

"Thank you for understanding Father. I'm so worried about her."

"We all are but I know she's just as strong as you are. Devine is staying with The Gravano's by the way."

"I was just about to ask. I missed seeing her."

"We'll come by and drop her off to see you tomorrow"

Mara walked back into the room.

"Doctor said he'll check on you again but he'll release you in the morning only," Mara said

"I won't argue with that. Thank you both"

Meanwhile...Mexico

Alora laid in bed as she tried her best not to cry again for the day. She couldn't stop thinking about Axel and finally escaping. The room door creaked open and Lucy stepped inside quietly shutting the door. Alora sat up quickly and glared at Lucy who walked towards her. Lucy sat on the bed and sighed.

"Yes?" Alora said angrily

"You're allowed to be angry Alora. There's something that I really need to talk to you about." Lucy said 

Meanwhile...Mexico

Alora laid in bed as she tried her best not to cry again for the day. She couldn't stop thinking about Axel and finally escaping. The room door creaked open and Lucy stepped inside quietly shutting the door. Alora sat up quickly and glared at Lucy who walked towards her. Lucy sat on the bed and sighed.

"Yes?" Alora said angrily

"You're allowed to be angry Alora. There's something that I really need to talk to you about." Lucy said

"Hurry up Lucy! I don't have all night!" Alora said

Lucy looked at the door quickly and turned around

"Shhh! Lower your voice. I don't want them to see me here." Lucy said

"Fine" Alora said rolling her eyes

"I'm going back to New York Alora."

"Okay?" Alora said

"I can help you out of here."

Alora giggled at Lucy's words.

"What's so funny?" Lucy asked

"First you attack me at the ball then you want to help me?" Alora said

"I know I did but after seeing someone at the ball. I realized I made a mistake."

"See who?" Alora asked furrowing her brow

"The little girl that was there"

Alora's heart beat faster as she realized it was Devine she was talking about. 

I must protect Devine at ALL costs. She thought to herself
