56-Madmen Don't Cry

The next morning

"Should we bring him with us?" Lilith asked

"No! He's f*cking crazy!" Phoenix said

"All of the Santiago's are crazy" Liam said

"True" Cedric said

They all looked at sleeping Axel.

"Well you guys better hurry up and decide before I decide for you. We need to talk to the workers on the beach." Manuel said

"Do you ever regret having children Manuel?" Phoenix asked

Manuel looked at Phoenix and furrowed his brow

"Uhh nevermind" Phoenix said

"Let's just go to the beach and see if there's any new updates" Cedric said

"Axel needs sleep so bringing him tired will do more harm than good" Lilith said

"Okay then it's settled" Manuel said

Manuel gave his wife Mara a kiss goodbye before heading to the beach. The care ride wasn't quiet this time. The team actually engaged in a conversation on what possible steps to take next.

"Axel has really been a headache" Phoenix said

"I don't know what to do with him anymore but I don't wanna focus on his emotional outbursts we need to find Alora" Manuel said

The car pulled up the beach site after a twenty five minute drive. They all got out of the car and walked towards the workers.

"Any news yet?" Manuel asked

"Nothing, we found no new evidence but we aren't giving up yet. We have to interview the last person that was with the victim" The officer said

Lilith raised her hand

"She was with me" Lilith said

"Okay, we can interview you today for some questioning" The officer said

"That's fine, we can start now" Lilith said

"Okay follow me, I'll have another officer interview the rest of you guys" The officer said

Lilith and the officer walked a few feet away from the group before starting the interview.

"I have to record this" The officer said

"Okay that's fine" Lilith said

The officer pulled out a device and began recording.

"Tell me Lilith what did you and Alora do the day she went missing?"

"First we went to her therapy appointment. It was her first appointment actually and she wasn't feeling up to it so I went to support her. Afterwards, I offered to get her some food since she's pregnant. I was so excited when I found out she was expecting a baby. I did so much research on pregnancies. We had crepes– she was actually having fun while we ate. She ate and ate so many crepes and downed it with so much Nutella. We paid for the food and then went back to the car, there was paparazzi so we hid from them. She wants her pregnancy private, that's why. Then we went shopping for maternity clothes. We shopped for hours and hours. Packed the car with the items and she wanted to go to the beach. I wanted her to go home and get some rest but she insisted we went. I didn't want to say no. I thought it was a pregnancy craving or something. So we came here, she stood by the ocean just standing there staring out at the waves. I had to make a call to try to get her fiance to come to France. After the call she was gone–no footprints or nothing. I panicked and looked around. nothing just nothing. I went close to the ocean and her ring was in the sand." Lilith explained and started to cry

The officer's eyes softened and ended the recording.

"This doesn't sound too good at all" The officer said

"Was she depressed or stressed out?" He asked

"Well she wasn't on good terms with her boyfriend for weeks. They didn't talk." Lilith sniffled

"I need you to give me the address of the therapist" The officer said

"Okay" Lilith said

The officer handed her a small notebook and pen. Lilith took it and wrote the address on it before handing him it back.

"Thank you this interview is complete" He said before leaving

Cedric walked over to Lilith and pulled her into a hug.

"You did so well" Cedric said before kissing Lilith

"I love you Ced" Lilith said

"I love you too Lili" Cedric said

The moment was ruined by a loud voice yelling.

"Hey! Why did you guys leave without me?!" Axel yelled

Phoenix rolled his eyes

"The devil's here!" Phoenix yelled

Manuel sped walked to Axel and grabbed his arm.

"What the f*ck are you doing here?!"

"I need to know what's going on dad!" Axel yelled

"We don't know anything! There's no news!" Manuel yelled

"What?!" Axel yelled

"I'm sure that's how she felt when you left for New York" Manuel said angrily

Axel pulled his arm away from his father and drove off angry

They all watched his car speed away from the beach.

"Call someone to get Axel Cedric–before he hurts someone" Manuel said
