As they walked to school, Gilbert and Cassandra talked, as always, Anne walking ahead of them, though when Gilbert remembers that she was very much there, he would ask her for her name.

"What, you can't tell me your name?" Gilbert calls as he finally runs after the girl, making Cassandra groan,

Though finally catching up to them both, "Here, here alow me." Gilbert said, opening the door for both girls, "Thank you," Anne muttered as she walked inside, though Cassandra remembered to put her milk on the small stream so she rushed and positioned her jar of milk in a corner.

Walking back in, she bumped into Anne walking out and the four girls huddling next to a crying Ruby.

"Oh, no... Ruby! What happened?" She asked, hurriedly putting her things on her table as she rushed to hug the girl, "Why did you let Anne walk with Gilbert?" Josie snapped, "We just bumped into her on the way-" She defended, "Well she's not supposed to. You're the only exception from that rule." Josie cut off,

"Ruby has liked him for three years! She has dibs." Josie remarked, making Cassandra roll her eyes, "But Cassie was there too-?" Anne mutters, "She's the only exception to that rule because Gilbert and she have been best friends ever since they were born. It was Mrs. Blythe's last wish that they never part and remain friends forever..." Diana explained,

"There, there... that nasty girl didn't know any better," Josie said, comforting and insulting, Cassandra was impressed.

"Just like yesterday with all your tall tales." Josie continues,

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to talk to him, it just happened." Anne reasoned

"Well don't let it happen again," Josie snaps, "I won't. I promise. I'll have nothing to do with him." Anne said with panic in her eyes,
