Cassandra found herself a step away from her dreams.


The cruise was right in front of her.


Just one more step and she would escape the leash that she had found herself trapped in.


Though with a heavy breath, and a tug from her hand,


She finally did it.


Relief filled her as she did. She was free. Free from Avonlea. The place she thought she would never leave. And now, here she was. Making her dream come true, step by step.

Gilbert was singing cheerfully as if he hadn't just come from feeding the steamship he was working at, covered in soot and sweat as he took his shoes off.

He was just daydreaming; though he wasn't much of a daydreamer, a certain blonde filled his mind every time he closed his eyes.

What could she be doing right now?

Was she alright?

Was she mad at him? Of course, she is; who was he kidding?

Would she still be there when he gets back?

Will he ever be coming back?

"Two days of this." The dark-skinned man from before announces his presence. He had learned, from the two months he's been working with him, that his name was Bash. Well, they called him Bash.

"Fireman's not the only one who doesn't appreciate that song." Bash seriously said to him with an accent to his tone. "I was just joking around," The curly-haired boy dismissed,

"Well, don't." Bash states, "You're right, you're right. Fireman is an easy target." Gilbert says, trying to cheer the man,

"That's not why." He replies, "What's eating you?" The young boy says with a squinted gaze, "I been trimmer for 10 years. More." He shrugs, "This is all I have." He says with a gloomy tone,

"I can't move up, this is it for me." Gilbert was slapped with reality, "And there ain't nothing for me on dry land." Bash continues,
