The youngest Deighton wasn't too desirous of the train station, especially since it was filled with smoke and ignorant people who were too busy to realize that they were being idiots.

Cassandra especially didn't like that she was to leave Avonlea to go with her father for some important business. The reason? well, she figured that he was going to introduce him to some old friends of his from Charlottetown.

The blonde sighs as she rests her head on the back of her hand, bored out of her wits as she observed the people boarding the train,

Just the ordinary old men in long black coats, probably going to the mainland for their jobs, a few women boarded the train as well, probably visiting family in Charlottetown,

Though one person piqued the girl's interest as she stares at a girl, the same age as her, she presumes, with bright orange hair, a huge grin, and a flushed face,

Was that Anne?

With the girl were two elderly people and a peculiarly familiar boy,

Gilbert?

"Cassie," Her father calls as he looks at her curious daughter with strange eyes, the newspaper in his hands lowered as he stared at where his daughter was staring,

"Do you know them?" He queries, at this, Cassandra's eyes widen as the two board the train, a trail of soft scolding followed,

"I believe it's Gilbert Blythe and Anne Cuthbert," The girl murmurs,

"Blythe?" Her father raises an eyebrow at her, "Yes, Blythe. No need to tease," The girl rolls her eyes playfully at her father, "I was just asking, deary." The man nearly laughs,

"Huh? Is that Cassie?! It is! Cass!!" Anne exclaims as she sprints awkwardly towards the two Deightons, "Anne! Hi!" The girl greets just as cheerfully,

"Oh, and this is my father, dad, meet Anne, one of my friends from Avonlea." She smiles as the boy approached the odd group,

"Nice to meet you, young lady; I've heard so much about you from our Cassie, here." Her father smiles, At this, Anne asked if they could sit together, which the two agreed on,

"Papa, uh, this is Gilbert Blythe, son of John Blythe," The blonde introduced as the boy sat next to Anne,

Her father looked at the boy questioningly before the man broke into a wide grin,

"I knew your parents well, boy. I'm glad to finally meet you," Her father shakes his hand, and at this,  Gilbert let out a sigh of relief he didn't know he was holding,

"It's nice to meet you as well, sir."

"Well! Now, that introductions have finished, what brings both of you to Charlottetown?" The older man asks the two teens as they sat on the seats across from them,

"Uh-" "Gilbert is escorting to me to Charlottetown; I am to go back to the orphanage I came from, to learn about my lineage." Anne rants before the boy could speak,

"Ah, a gentleman, I see?" Her father says pridefully,

"I am so happy for you, Anne." Cassandra smiles at the girl,

The train ride went smoothly as always, nothing Cassandra could complain about, even though she did feel a bit nauseous in the middle, which the boy quietly took notice of, they were back at Charlottetown, parting ways.

The duration of their ride filled with her father asking her friends questions, Anne ranting as she always has, the girl did miss that about her, and the teens reminiscing on the old times, something her father couldn't partake in as he just listened to them talk about their childhood adventures,

The four have departed the train, Cassandra found herself seated on one of the chairs as her father talked to a few people working there; Anne had disappeared after having a very subtle whispered argument with Gilbert; so now, only the two remained,

"I noticed you got a bit dizzy during the ride, I wanted to offer you some of these, I think they should help," Gilbert offers the girl a slice of ginger, "You just smell it and it might just clear it up for you," The boy advised as he knelt on one knee,

"What are you, a doctor now, Mr. Blythe?" Cassandra softly teased, "That is the goal," The boy murmured,

At his response, the girl's face turned from a tired expression to a shocked one,

"Your vocation is to become a doctor?" She regrettably says aloud, "Well, yes. After a few unexpected adventures and during my trip, I was opened to the option," The boy smiles as he stood,

"A doctor, boy?" Her father randomly jumps into their conversation, "Oh, uh, yes sir." He replies shyly, "This boy is brilliant, perfect for your vocation. Tell you what, if you can graduate before we leave for France, I can make you my scholar to Sorbonne, aye?" The man offers,

"That would be wonderful sir," Gilbert excitedly accepts,

"Right, well, c'mon now, Cassie. We wouldn't want to keep you from where you're going," He winks at the boy before walking along with Cassandra following after him,

"Cass," The boy calls as he pulls her gently, "Uh, yeah?" She questions,

"If it would be alright, might you accept an invitation to tea tomorrow? Y'know, to catch up like the old times," Gilbert Blythe questioned hesitantly, as the girl wondered for a few seconds before smiling brightly at the anxious boy,

"It seems it would be alright, Mr. Blythe."
