Courtship is a general term for a simple understanding—a period wherein a couple grows a romantic relationship before marriage.
Cassandra was familiar with the word, for within her few years in France, she was courted once or twice- maybe thrice. They were all college boys her brother was friends with, but she wasn't fond of any of them. She always found something missing.
But one thing was for sure for the girl, marriage and courtship were far from her mind and life plans.
"Little Delly!"
Cassandra calls to the little girl who ate ice cream on her father's side, greeting the little baby that she had only met a few days ago, the blonde was already fond of the small child.
"There's someone I'd like you to meet." Gilbert smiles softly at the girl who played with Delphine, making the smaller girl laugh with joy.
"Oh, and Sebastian, I'm glad you look so much better than our first meeting," Cassandra exclaims, the man copying her bright grin as she did.
"Ice cream all around folks?" The man who sells the ice cream says to the group, "Yes, on me." Cassie's father smiles as he too nears the little angel on Sebastian's arm,
"Sebastian Lacroix, may I introduce you to Mr. Deighton." Gilbert introduces, "Pleasure to meet you." The man says as he shook her father's hand, "And you," Christopher replies,
"Sebastian is my partner on the farm and my family."
"And who is this pretty girl?" Christopher acknowledges the small child that Cassandra seemed to be fond of, "My daughter, Delphine." Sebastian responds,
"I was just about to head over to the cake competition, Anne made Mary's recipe and I'm betting it'll knock the judge's socks off." The man informs,
"Shall we all walk there together then?" Cassie asks as her father passes her a serving of vanilla ice cream,
