It was the year 1855, where Allison Bartley was furiously walking towards the Smith house in Charlottetown. She had gotten the information of a certain Blythe that started courting her best friend. Honestly, how could he! The girl's mind raged,

Knocking on the door lightly, she had managed to plaster a sweet smile on her face as she faced Mrs. Smith, "Good morning, Allison, what brings you here this early on a weekend?" The kind woman asks as she opened the door for the girl, "Morning, Mrs. Smith, is Margaret home?" The blonde questioned with a bright grin,

"Oh yes, she's just up in her room, come in, please." Mrs. Smith politely says as she opened the door for Allison, "Thank you, I'll get to her now if that's alright." The girl states as she hangs her coat, scarf, and hat on the rack hurriedly,

As Mrs. Smith nodded at her, she began sprinting up the stairs and barging into Margaret Smith's room.

Margaret was sitting on her vanity chair with dreamy eyes and a hum that followed her lips, her room was the bright yellow as usual, her bed made and cleaned, her dresses and clothes stored away in her closet, her hats and bags hanged, and her room was absolutely spotless.

That raged the blonde even more,

"Margaret Mildred Smith!" The girl exclaims, Margaret looked at her with an alarmed look before the girl broke into giggles, "Hello, Alice. What can I do for you on this beautiful day?" She grins, "B-beautiful day-? What has gotten into that head of yours to say this is a beautiful day?! Where is Marge and what have you done with her?!" The blonde continues,

"Stop with your yelling, you're going to wake Caleb. What do you want, Alice?" Margaret bores,

"Your room is spotless. Spotless! You're exceptionally cheery, which isn't normal at all! And now I hear the word all over from Avonlea that you and that Blythe boy has been courting?!" She booms,

"Yes, and what is wrong with that?" Margaret queried the blonde, "Nothing at all but- you said we'll accept courting together!" She pouts,

"But we are! Because today, we are going to find you a fine mate." Marge giggles, "A mate?! What am I- an animal?!" Allison continued to yell, "Hush up and get your coat to let's go to that new tea place that opened last week." She says as she began getting her accessories,

Though Allison did notice something, she had a new necklace dangling on her neck, it was of the darkest blue and she guessed it to be a diamond.

"Marge? I've never seen you with that necklace before," The girl squints, "Oh, grandmother gave it to me, she says it had been in our family for generations and it would be handed when a girl is sixteen." Marge smiled before both girls giddily went out,

The blonde grew nervous about their future, though she just didn't know that she was going to meet the love of her life in the next few seconds, some may call it childish, though they called it love at first sight.

Gilbert decided that staying home would be best for the next three days, for Cassandra however, her mother couldn't let her stay from school any longer.

Cassandra didn't want to go to school at all, in fact, she wanted to escape to Gilbert's and stay with him, though of course, she couldn't disobey her mother once again, so she decided that it would be best to go.

She was listening to Mr. Phillips gloomily, doodling on her slate as his voice bored her to death.

Though the next few moments wouldn't become so boring as her brother stormed into the schoolhouse, looking for the blonde.

"Good day, Mr. Phillips, may I excuse Cassandra? It's an emergency." Joseph announced, which made the girl fumble with her things as she walked towards him, a bit alarmed.

Mr. Phillips nodded before both siblings made their way out, "What happened?" Cassandra asked, "It's John." Joseph states,

Cassandra didn't need any other words to make her understand what had happened. All she knew now was to get to Gilbert as fast as she could.

Entering the Blythe house, it felt gloomy and sorrowful, her mother was already there, helping Mrs. Kincannon with the people who would prepare the funeral.

Gilbert, however, was nowhere to be found.

"Mother?" Cassandra sprinted towards Allison, "Cassie! Oh dearie," Her mother hugged her, "He was the only person I had left to remember Marge by," She cried, Cassandra hugged her mother tightly before her mother wiped her tears with a handkerchief and pulled away,

"Where is Gilbert?" The blonde asked, "He's gone off somewhere after I called him to see his father," Mrs. Kincannon says,

The girl had slow tears running down her cheek before she nodded,

She knew just where Gilbert might be.

The girl arrived at the location of their treehouse exhausted and freezing. Though she would go to any lengths to find Gilbert right now.

And as she expected as she reached the top, there was the curly-haired boy she was looking for. Huddled in the corner of the treehouse in a little ball as he sobbed,

"Gil?" The girl called as more tears fell from her eyes, "Cass!" Gilbert exclaimed as he broke from his position and tackled the girl into an embrace.

There sat two teens, huddled together as they tried to comfort one another, for the boy, he was thankful to have the girl, he was thankful that every heartbreak he had to face, she was always there to face it with him, and for the girl, she was just happy to have found him, her lover, that she knew would always protect her and comfort her like what she was doing for him, though little does she know, her guesses were wrong.
