Change of heart

Priya was sitting on the floor beside their bed with her eyes fixed on their room door expecting her husband to return back for more than 2 hours. She don't know what to do. She called him but he had forgotten his phone in their room. She decided to wait for him. The hurt she had seen in his eyes is what killing her.
She did get little angry at him for not listening to her even once. But she know he is hurt seeing those papers.
Priya looked up hearing the footsteps and there stood her husband looking at her with guilty face.
Ram who entered their room saw Priya sitting on the floor with red eyes. He felt guilty for leaving alone. She is here only for him and he left his wife on her own to calm himself. He felt guilty on seeing her.
Ram slowly went near her after locking their room door. He went and sat opposite to her on the floor.
She kept looking at him without blinking her eyes. He took her face in both of his hands and kissed her forehead before saying a small sorry.
Priya looked at him bewildered as she can't understand his actions. Ram looked into her eyes before speaking

Ram: I know I shouldn't have left like tha but Priya seeing that papers did hurt me. I know I should allowed you to explain yourself first but when mom came and gave the papers, I couldn't think straight. I am finally beginning to enjoy our marital life. I was happy because you finally started accepting our relation wholeheartedly. You know priya I can't explain the happiness I got when you said you will stay in our home. I was over the moon when you attended the meeting willingly as
Mrs. Ram Kapoor. I was so eager to meet you today when mom came and gave me the documents. I felt terrified thinking whether you started going into your shell or you decided to not get involved in my life. These thoughts didn't allow me think straight. I didn't mean to hurt you Priya. It's just that I don't want say something that I have not intended to say. Now I'm here, you tell me what happened to you. What made you to take this decision? You know you can share anything with me. Did I do something wrong? Tell me priya. What happened to you?
Priya looked at him with tear filled eyes listening to him, she moved forward and hugged him before breaking down fully. Ram allowed her to cry as he know what he did had hurt her. He kept on caressing her head. Once her whimpering died down, he made her look at him and wiped her tears.
Ram: Tell me priya what made you to take this decision.
And then Priya proceeded to tell what mama and mami did.
Ram: why didn't not you tell when I called you yesterday night?
Priya: I thought the next day you  will be here to handle everything and moreover I don't want you to be in tension there.
Ram: then what happened Priya?
Priya: woh Mr. Kapoor
Then Priya proceeded to tell what happened
Flashback:
Priya: I want to talk to you privately shubham.
Shubham: ji bhabhi.
Mami: what is the need to talk  privately, you talk whatever you want infront of us.
Shubhu: mami please, I will take care of it.
Shubu took Priya to his room and made her sit on couch while he sat next to her.
Priya: what happened to you shubham?
Shubu: bhabhi woh
Priya: Whatever problem you have, drinking will never be the solution to it. Do you understand?
Shubhu nodded his head.
Priya: Now first tell me, why didn't you attend the meeting yesterday?
Shubu: bhabhi I never know about the meeting. If I had known about the meeting I will never go to see the match.
Priya: Adi told that he informed you guys day before yesterday, if even adi didn't inform you, yesterday morning Mr. Kapoor did inform you about the presentation during our breakfast right?
Shubhu: bhabhi Adi didn't inform me, he informed sid who never informed me about the meeting and morning when Ram bhai informed me about the presentation, I thought he is asking me to prepare it for future purpose. I swear bhabhi I never know there was a meeting yesterday. If I had known, I would never go for partying.
Priya: shubhu first of all, Adi is elder to you and you should start addressing him as brother.
Mr. Kapoor looks after you Because  you are his brother. But adi, he treats you the same way Mr. Kapoor treats you. Not only adi but Kunal, vikrant, brindha, they all treat you and shivi as their siblings. They do everything for you good heartedly. Then why is it difficult for you to respect them. Infact it is important for you to respect them first than your brother.
Shubhu kept looking at her,while she continued
Priya: Don't think that I'm lecturing you, I consider you as my brother like akki, I don't want you to choose a wrong path. Respecting others will always help you to gain respect for yourself. Do you understand what I'm trying to say?
Shubham: ji bhabhi. I will treat them with respect hereafter.
Priya: Thank you shubham for understanding.
Priya smiled at him while shubham returned it with hesitant smile.
Priya: Even if you didn't attend the meeting, all you need to do is explain yourself to your brother. Then what was the need to get drunken shubham.
Shubhu: woh bhabhi..
Priya: Tell me shubham what is bothering you?
Shubhu: I called Ram bhai yesterday to ask sorry but he never answered my phone. This is the first time, he never answered my phone. I called mom who told me that Bhai was angry and disappointed at me. You know bhabhi I have changed myself a lot in recent times. I started doing everything Bhai asks me to do as I don't want him to be disappointed with me. I wanted him to feel proud about me but again I am only disappointing him.
Priya: shubham I understand what you are feeling. I am really happy for you. You know your brother is always proud of you. Do you know why he does important and tough works in your business?
Shubu: I can't do that work properly.
Priya: you are wrong shubhu, he does that because he wants you enjoy this phase of  your life without any burden. He didn't get to enjoy this as dad's absence made him more responsible but he wants you to have that because he is there for you to take care of you. At the same time, he want you to get little responsible towards the family and business and yes he didn't attend your call yesterday because he don't want to scold in anger and hurt you. That's why he asked me to talk to you in person. But you were not in a position to listen anything yesterday.
Shubhu had tears listening to his bhabhi's explanation. He can't imagine the things his Bhai went through. He felt lucky to have him and the days he treated him badly made him feel guilty.
Priya who was observing shubhu, understood his inner turmoil.
Priya: shubhu you don't have to keep on worrying about the past. Your brother loves you and you love him now that's what matters. Leave the past behind and move forward with love.
Shubhu kept his head in her lap and cried listening to her.
Shubu: bhabhi will you ask Bhai to forgive me for the past deeds. I will never hurt him again. I swear I will be more responsible . I will not disappoint you both.
Priya was startled at first, then understood his heart. He was not a bad person at heart, he was just a misguided child. She started feeling protective of him as he always opened up to her alone and she can see the child in him who wants nothing but love and appreciation.
She caressed his hairs before speaking
Priya: you don't have to worry about anything shubu, we are always proud of you. And for not attending the meeting, it was not your fault, it's just happened due to a miscommunication. Your brother is not angry at you. You be yourself. We are there for you. Now stop crying.
Shubhu nodded at Priya and wiped his tears.
Priya: shubhu, you know these shares doesn't matter to me or your brother than you. If you want anything we will not have a second thought before giving it you. Mami asked me to return this shares to you. I will give it you if it was only a mere property papers but this is your brother's trust on me. He trusted me with his brother.  I don't want to break his trust. I don't want to disrespect him by signing it off without consulting him. He will never say anything if I told it was my wish to give you but he will surely get hurt by that. I don't want to hurt him knowingly. I will give it you once I told him everything.
Shubhu: bhabhi I never want your shares for me. I don't know why mami will ask something like that. If Bhai gave it you then it will be a  correct decision and even I'm happy to have my bhabhi on my side. You will also help me in our business so I can enjoy my time. I don't want your shares bhabhi never ever. I will talk to mami, you don't have to sign anything. I truly respect your decision bhabhi.
Priya smiled at him with little moist eyes while shubhu gave her a teary smile.
Shubhu: now come on bhabhi, I will drop you in your institute. You are getting late for your classes.
Saying so he dragged her to car and dropped her safely in her institute.
Flashback ends.

Ram started crying hugging Priya once she finished saying everything to him. Priya too caressed him to calm him down. After few minutes,
Ram: I'm sorry Priya, I have hurt you so much when you are only trying to diffuse the situation. I am so sorry.
Priya: Mr. Kapoor it was not your mistake. I didn't tell you anything.
Ram: because I never allowed you to speak. I am really sorry Priya.
Priya: Mr. Kapoor , I got happy when you returned to listen my side. Everyone needs some lone time to straighten their thoughts and I respect you for that.
Ram: Thank you so much for being there for us Priya.
Priya: Mr. Kapoor, this is my family to. So you should stop saying thanks or sorry to me.
Ram nodded his head at her.
Priya: I want you to speak to shubhu first. He was worried that you are angry at him. You talk to him Mr. Kapoor. He will feel better once you talked to him.
Ram nodded his head at her and looked at her tear strained face. He took her face in both of his hands and kissed her forehead first, then slowly kissed her right eye,then moved to left eye. Then he kissed her nose before kissing her both the cheeks. After kissing her cheeks, he kissed her chin. He was going to claim her lips, when their moment was interrupted by tarun who said to them that nandhini is calling them for dinner.
Ram replied to him that they will come in 5 minutes while Priya buried her face into his chest. He smiled seeing her blushing face. He will never get tired of seeing her blushing face. He kissed the top of her head before hugging her tightly.
After few minutes, both washed their face and changed their clothes before going for dinner.
Priya asked Ram to not to talk about the papers preapared by mama and mami who obliged to her as they thought Nandhini will feel bad if she came to know about their deeds, without knowing that she is one who planned everything.
They went and had their dinner in silence. Nandhini, mama and mami were happy seeing their dull face and Priya's red eyes. They were happy thinking their plan worked. After completing their dinner, ram asked Priya to go and take rest while he will come after talking to shubu.
Priya nodded at him and went towards their room. Ram went to speak to his brother.
Ram: shubu woh
Shubu: Bhai
Shubu hugged ram on seeing him which surprised Ram as shubu always maintained his distance with him.
Shubu: Bhai I'm sorry for not attending the meeting. I will be careful hereafter.
Ram patted him for sometime and then asked him to relax.
Ram: No need of any sorry as your bhabhi explained everything to me. Shubu you just enjoy your life but like a responsible person. We are there for you always. I am not angry at you now.
Shubham: Bhai sorry for not respecting you in the past and for taking you as granted.
Ram: shubu you are my baby brother,you have all the rights on me. So forget the past and let's Move forward to fill our life with new memories.
Ram hugged shubu while he to reciprocated the hug happily.
Ram: And I don't want you get drunk anymore. If you have any problem share it with us but don't you dare to get drunk anymore.
Shubham: ji Bhai.
Ram: Now sleep well, will see you in morning. Good night shubhu.
Shubham: good night Bhai.
After bidding bye to shubu, ram came to his room to find his wife sleeping.
He know she is so tired. He smiled at her sleeping form before laying beside her in the bed. Soon he to slept due to the past two days tiredness.
Shubhu to slept with happiness in his heart..
