{Jasper's POV}
(From right after Aspen left the meeting room)

"So what exactly did you do?" I ask Kohen.

"I have no f*cking idea. She didn't even tell me why she took me off the hitlist."

Kohen and I walk down the hallway, on our way to Caspian's temporary office. I don't want to see our father, but he wants to see us. That old man needs to retire his f*cking life.

I didn't say that.

You cant f*cking prove it.

Arriving at the door, I place my hand on the knob, turning it excruciatingly slow just to prolong the time a little bit.

"Don't even f*cking open it, lets just turn around." Kohen says, making me look at him with a raised eyebrow.

Just as I'm about to do exactly what Kohen suggested, the office door opens with Caspian holding a gun to my head. I widen my eyes slightly, merely from surprise and not fear in the slightest. Cas would never shoot me.

We make eye contact and Caspian lowers the gun.

"Under attack again." Caspian says plainly.

I immediately tense, I notice Kohen does as well out of the corner of my eye. I take the gun out of my waistband and check the clip. I notice I need more bullets.

"Bullets?" Caspian asks, I simply nod.

He turns around and goes around his desk, opening a drawer. He grabs a box and throws it towards me. I notice our father sitting on a chair, not bothering to do anything.

How he was ever a respected don is beyond me.

Catching the box of bullets thrown at me, I fill my clip and my pockets. I give the rest to Kohen to use.

"Aspen?" I ask Caspian.

"Find her." He demands.

I nod wordlessly and leave the office. Kohen follows behind me and I take the lead. It's usually how we do things. Since I was born literally minutes before him, it still gives me the privilege of being older. I get to lead while he has to listen to what I say.

I check around corners, gesturing for Kohen to follow when I deem them clear. I figure Aspen went to her room. It's pretty late and she's had a rough few days. If I were her, I would sleep and that's the logic I'm going off of.

I turn a corner without checking first, stupid on my part. I'm just in a rush to see her. I need to know she's okay.

I'm greeted by a nice round of bullets firing at us. I quickly go in front of Kohen and back up until we're both back behind the wall. Being the leader also means to protect the people you're leading. Otherwise you're not much of a leader. Lucky us, the bad guys have ass aim.

As they reload, I turn the corner, taking each of them out. easy. Kohen and I step over the bodies and continue our walk.

Crossing a corridor, someone tries to surprise attack us. He manages to tackle me down but I quickly maneuver my body weight to flip us over so that I can be over him. Grabbing a bunch of his shirt in my fist, I lift him slightly so that I can get better hits in. Punch after punch, a sickening crack follows each hit. I manage to make blood splatter all over my face with each hit. Kohen tugs the shoulder of my shirt, reminding me we have to keep going.

I stand up, using the back of my hand to wipe the blood from my mouth. I watch as the man's head drops and rolls back since I let go of the grip I had on his shirt. I brush it off easily and continue walking. I suddenly pause, hearing an ear piercing scream coming from exactly where we're headed. I look at Kohen, both of us knowing exactly who it is.
