Pearl, Y/n, Connie and Steven warped in on a Warp Pad in front of a giant Wailing Stone, in the middle of a snowy wilderness.
"We're here!" Pearl says excitedly.
"Wow! The Great North is so beautiful in person." Connie says as she looks around.
"It really is, but I'm glad I brought a thick enough coat." Y/n says as he shivers at the sudden change in temperature.
"Wait, wait! Stay right there!" Steven tells them as he runs a distance in front of Pearl, Y/n and Connie and takes out his phone. "Alright, smileee!"
Pearl, Y/n and Connie smile and pose in determination, and Steven takes a photo.
"Okay, now one more where it looks like you're looking for a monster." Steven tells them.
Pearl, Y/n and Connie all look at each other for a moment but pose again, and Steven takes another photo.
"Okay, now one like you made a joke." Steven suggests.
Pearl and Connie pose again, and Steven takes a third photo.
"Okay, now do one where the joke's not that funny, but it's more like a joke that makes you... think." Steven says.
"Okay, I think that's enough photography." Pearl stops him now.
"But it's Connie's first mission! Her parents asked me to take lots of pictures." Steven tells Pearl.
"Oh..."
"Thank you so much for letting me come on this mission, Pearl!" Connie bows to Pearl and blushes. "It's such an honor to work alongside you."
"Well, Connie, yours and Y/n's sword fighting skills have far exceeded my expectations. And, with my careful supervision, of course, I'm confident that you can handle a simple Gem recovery mission like this.
"It's been a while since I used a sword." Y/n said as he tapped the handle of the rapier Pearl had given him long ago.
"Thank you so much again! I promise I won't let you down, ma'am." Connie says now.
Steven snaps another photo of the three talking. "Connie's first mission!" Steven whispers proudly to himself.
Pearl, Y/n, Steven, and Connie had begun walking through the snow now.
"Recap the mission for us, Connie." Pearl says.
"Garnet sensed some corrupted Gem activity in these woods. It is our job to locate it, destabilize its form, and bubble it." Y/n recites.
"Very good. Now, your human bodies aren't designed to last in this cold, so we'll have to be extra careful."
"That's okay, I've got this backpack filled with everything we need to survive in the wilderness." Connie says
"And I brought some sleeping bags for us all. Just in case." Y/n says as he hints to own backpack.
"And I've got board games in case we get bored." Steven grins.
"Ah, yes." Pearl comments as she trials off. "Very good."
"So, how will we know if this corrupted Gem is nearby?" Connie asks.
A large growling is suddenly heard, and everyone gasp in shock.
"That's how!" Y/n says as he unsheathes and raises his rapier now.
"Here it comes!" Pearl warns them.
