96. The Trial

Y/n eyes began to flutter as he slowly opened them, as he did however he was met with what looked like the dark quiet of space surrounded by stars and galaxies. "Oh what the hell..." Y/n mutters to themselves but he stopped when he heard a noise that he soon recognised to be humming.

"Hello?" Y/n calls out to the sound of the humming.

"Hmm." The humming stops but Y/n sees nobody. "Oh You are...something new?" A voice asks and Y/n begins to look all around.  "How interesting. I wonder what you can show me." The voice says suddenly perking up.

"Who are you? Show yourself!" Y/n says getting frustrated now but soon his vision grows too bright for him to see anything and he has to cover his eyes.

"Stuck here on..who knows where!" Lars mumbles as he looks around the room he and Y/n were currently in. 

Y/n started groaning as he sat up and opened his eyes. "What was that?" He asked himself shaking his head.

"Y/n you're alright!" Lars said sounding relieved he wasn't on his own now.

"Lars?" Y/n asks as he sits up now. "Where are we?" Y/n asks looking around the room before he notices something more important. "Where is Steven?" 

Steven is seen alone in a room, as he begins to speak to himself out loud. "I know my mom did something bad. Whatever Homeworld has in store for me... I'm ready!"

Silence in the room ensues.

"I said, I'm ready! It's me, Rose Quartz! Hello? Anybody? Lars? You there? Is this the punishment? Come on! I know it's going to be worse than this! So whatever you're going to do... Would you just do it already?" Steven slumps against a wall in the room in misery, when a door opens in the wall and a blue Gem walks in, with panels floating around her and appearing extremely nervous.

"This is ridiculous! 4,000 years of loyal service to the court, and this is what I get? Oh, I'm the unluckiest Zircon in the galaxy!" The Blue gem says to themselves as they look at their panels.

Steven tries to run out of the door the Zircon entered from, but it closes before he can reach it. He then turns towards the Zircon, who gasps in surprise as she notices him.

"Wait, are you... Rose Quartz?" The Zircon asks Steven.

"Yeah..." Steven answers.

"...Really?" The Zircon asks skeptic.

"It's a long story." Steven says.

"Then I don't have time for it! Ugh! We only have this brief moment to prepare your case." The Zircon turns back to her screens.

"Case?" Steven asks.

" Ugh! Who am I kidding? This is pointless! We've all heard the rumors about the demise of Pink Diamond, but I can't believe these files." The Zircon scrolls through the floating panels. "Shattered by one of her own soldiers- Ugh! In front of her entire entourage!?" She turns to Steven. "And look at you now! That ridiculous disguise is only going to make you look more guilty!" She curls up in fear.

"That's fine, because I am!" Steven says.

"Whoa! Wha.. .Don't say that! Especially when you're out there!" The Zircon suddenly says.

"Out where?! What's going to happen!?" Steven asks

"What did you think was going to happen, Rose Quartz!? As soon as that door opens, you're going on trial!!" The Zircon cries.
