Heartless Sweetheart

Fear.

I walk back to class annoyed because of Ni-ki. I see everyone stare at me as I walk in. I try to ignore it but all this attention is making me extremely uncomfortable. I see that asshole Ni-ki sitting in his seat like nothing ever happened. 

I sit down in my seat and assure Jukyung nothing happened between me and Ni-ki. I notice a bandage on my desk with a note attached to it. I curiously open the note to see one single word on it "sorry." 

I look around the classroom and search for whoever put this on my desk. I ask Jukyung if she's seen anyone but she says she hasn't seen anyone near my desk. 

I shrug and put the bandage on. 

"Hyejin!!!! Are you okay?? Do you need anything!!" Jake screeches after he walked to my desk. 

"No I'm fine. Thanks for caring Jake.." I say awkwardly after remembering the moment we kissed. I see Sunghoon speaking to Jukyung making her laugh a lot. 

"oooooo I see you two lovebirdsss!!" I say annoying Sunghoon and Jukyung. 

"yeaaaa! Also Hyejin thank your mom for dinner last time! It was amazing!" Jake says catching the attention of Jukyung and Sunghoon. 

"omg you've already met her mom? wow isn't that a little too fast for your relationship? Your in high school!" Jukyung jokes. 

"Jukyungggg! I will literally murder you!" I say while hitting her shoulder. 

The class ends and it is finally lunch time so I walk with Jukyung, Sunghoon, and Jake to lunch. I don't even consider waking Ni-ki up for lunch again. To can play that game Ni-ki!

"Ugh Hyejin I'm gonna go to the nurse's office. I feel so sickkkk! also I have science next! Hopefully I go home!" Jukyung says while rubbing her forehead. I worriedly touch her forehead to see if she has a fever but it's fine. 

"Okayy but should I come with you? I am worried!" 

"I'll go." Sunghoon says while grabbing her arm and carefully taking her to the nurse's office. 

"what's with them??" I ask Jake. He shrugs and puts his arm over my shoulder and walks to the talk where Jungwon, Jay, and Sunoo are sitting. I sit down and I am greeted with bright smiles. 

Jungwon and Sunoo are in a different class but they are Jake's friends and now mine. Jay is just a popular, handsome guy who sits with us.

"Hyejinnnn ahhhhh I'm so tired! Jake keeps talking about his dog! layla or something!! Stop himm" Sunoo complains to me making me laugh out loud. 

"Yah! Not funny Sunoo! Layla is soooo cuteee!" Jake pouts while saying. 

Jungwon and Jay talk about their classes with each other while ignoring Sunoo and Jake fight like children.

School ends and everyone goes home and I think about my exam next week so I lazily get up to go to the library to study for at least an hour. The skies are all shades of blue with puffy clouds I wish I could eat! Jukyung texts me that she is home and is sick.

"Okay let's study!" I say before starting to open my notebooks and notes. Minute by minute I feel like I'm getting smarter! That is definitely incorrect but I'd like to believe I am a smart person. 

The bright blue skies turn into dark stary night skies. I pack up all my stuff and start to walk home. Of course I am scared of weird people, especially men like my father, but why should I avoid them if I didn't do anything wrong? 

I walk with my air pods in my ears listening to music. 

"Hyejin-ah!!" I hear someone say so I take off my air pods to see him... My world crumbles down once again. 

"Come on! Honey it's dad! whaaa your not giving me a hug!?!?!?" He demands. I step backwards and he steps closer and closer.

"P-please stop" I say mustering up all my courage to even speak. He scoffs and the look in his eye changes. He is pure evil in my eyes. Fear. Is fear what I am feeling right now?

"You ungrateful brat!! I worked so hard for you to just become a bitch like your mother??? Come here!!!" He says while reaching for my hair and grabbing it harshly. I try and stop him but my body gives up on me as I try to. What is this cold rush going through my body?

"p-please.." I mutter before he throws me onto the cold concrete ground. I fall onto the ground and form ball with my body. I breakdown randomly with my tears streaming down my face. Why do I feel this way?

"I hope you learned your lesson bitch." He says before running off to who knows where. 5 minutes. 5 minutes of meeting him can make my whole world crash down. 

"stop... stop.. stop.." I can feel my heartbeat in my ears. It is beating louder and louder. Someone make it stop...

"Hyejin?" I hear someone say before I lose consciousness.

"It's all your fault. I hate you!" I hear someone say in pools of dark red blood. I notice my father in pool of blood and a little kid next to him. 

"Please stop... Make it stop... I beg you..." I say before waking up from my nightmare. I blink my eyes slowly back to reality. I start crying once again realizing this is real. My father did come to see me... 

"Hyejin-ah! Get it together! What happened???" I hear someone say from my left side. I look around to see me not in my room, a totally different person's room. 

"Ni-ki?" I say finally realizing who saved me. He sits back down and gives me a cold but worried look. I like to say I am good at analyzing people's emotions. That's what I do in class, anyway. 

"Who did that to you? Someone from school? Don't tell me it was that bastard Ji-ung??" Ni-ki says while breaking the silence. I roll my eyes. again with that guy, Ji-ung??

"It isn't someone you know. I don't feel the need to explain to you. Thank you for taking care of me but I'm gonna go now.." I say before grabbing my bag and phone. 

I try to open the door and realize he is holding my wrist. 

"Hyejin, as much as I hate you, I can't seem to stay away." he says immediately regretting it. 

"Uh ok. So this has been so fun but I gotta go!" I say while walking out of his house awkwardly. I can feel him following me from behind.

"Hyejin! wait!" Ni-ki finally says and starts running up to me. I stnad in place and wait for him to catch up to me. He helped me so I should be nice. yea...

He randomly links his arm with mine. 

"What the hell Ni-ki??" I say in shock. 

"You let Jake hold your arm and put his arm over you all the time!!" He says while slightly pouting. 

"awwww is little Ni-ki jealousssss. hahahaha! Also Jake is my best friend and I trust him so I let him. Unlike someone I know..." I say while laughing. I completely forgot about my father for a couple minutes. 

"Okay this is my house as you should know. So uh bye I guess?" I say awkwardly reaching into my bag for my keys. 

"Shit I forgot my keys lemme press the doorbell." I say flustered making Ni-ki slightly chuckle. 

"Hello?" a unknown guys voice is heard when I open the door...
