Heartless Sweetheart

Sick and tired.

I sit in silence for a minute and look down. I hear Hikaru searching for Niki and calling his name. 

"You should go. She's searching for you." I say while using my hand to show Niki where Hikaru is. 

"No I want to-"

"Hikaru! Over here!" I say while smirking to mask the pain. She runs over and starts clinging onto Niki. 

"Aw are you not feeling well? Then me and Niki can just go without you!" Hikaru says while walking off with Niki in hand. I sigh deeply and get off the bench. I pull out my phone to text Jake that I'm not feeling well. 

I feel someone grab my waist and twirl me around to face them and kiss me on the lips. I widen my eyes in shock and realize this person is Niki. 

The kiss goes on for a good minute but I finally push him away. 

"Niki! Are you crazy?!?!" I shout. he wipes the the bottom of his lip with his sleeve and he starts smirking. I walk away to where ever else he isn't. 

I end up at a park so I sit down on a swing to cool myself off. I scroll on Instagram to think about something else. 

I see the post Jake posted again and a big grin appears on my face. Oh shoot. I forgot to tell him. 

Jake🤞:

                                                                                                                               Me: Jake I'm so sorry I  forgot to                                                                                                   tell you I am not feeling well so go home please.

Jake🤞: It's fine. I went home anyway.

                                                                                           Me: I'm really sorry! See you at school tomorrow!                                                                                                     Or I can meet up with you now?

Jake🤞: no. I'm busy.

                                                                                                                                                                           Me: oh okay.

Why is he acting weird? Maybe it's just in my head. I guess.

It turns dark so I decide to go home. I take the bus and walk down my streets of my neighborhood. I see Niki's house as I walk down the street. I roll my eyes at the sight of him and Hikaru in front of the door. I continue walking until I see Hikaru lean closer to Niki. I stop in my tracks to observe them. She kisses him on the lips and Niki doesn't push her away. hah! I was right! She is his girlfriend! Wait. He kissed me literally like two hours ago... That ass-

I reach my house so I open the door and quietly walk inside and take off my shoes. No one notices me so I take a sigh of relief. 

"Hyejin!" I hear my moms voice say from the kitchen. I slowly turn around and hope she doesn't ask why I'm so late. 

"H-Hi mom!"

"How was your exam sweetie?" she asks with a cup of tea in hand. 

"G-Good!" I say shortly in a nervous sweat. 

"Why do you look pale?" Damn. She caught me. 

"Uhmmm I am just tired. I am actually gonna sleep now? yea!" I make up an excuse quickly off the top of my head. She let's me go and I walk upstairs. I fall asleep right away from how tired I am.

I wake up for school again like a regular day. 

I wash up and eat my breakfast. I hope today is a normal day. I remember that piece of trash, Niki. How could he kiss two different girls in a day. maybe my tiny itsy bitty feelings were red flags for him. 

I arrive at school on time, for the first time in a while at least... 

"Hyejin Hyejin!! Come quick!" I hear Jukyung say from across the hall. I walk a little faster with curiosity flowing through my head. 

"OMG! Did you see the school website!!?!??!" She says quite loudly in my ear. 

"No? Don't tell me it's me again-" I get cut off by her shaking her head aggressively.

"No! This time it's... Seoyoung! She got exposed real bad. It was only a couple photos but it was her and I think her boyfriend like fighting right? and then he like hit her or something! Everyone is chattering on that now!!" she says making my jaw fall to the floor. 

"W-What? Who did it?" I ask curiously.

"It was anonymous so no one knows who. But she like deserves it." Jukyung says. I ignore my thoughts and just nod in response. Who could it have been? Jukyung goes to find her book she forgot last time and I get left alone. 

I spot Jake next to his locker so I happily walk up to him. 

"Boo!" I say from behind him. He pretends it didn't scare him but his whole body flinched in response. I smile happily but he doesn't seem to be happy.

"Hi Jake!" I say trying to catch his attention. He ignores me and starts walking away. 

"Hey!" I shout but he doesn't seem to hear me. I chase after him but he walks faster. Darn his long legs. Why is he so fast? I think about it and pretend to fall down. I purposely drop my bag hard on the floor for the sound. I try not to laugh and cry in pain. 

"Ouchh!" I say while holding my knee. I watch as he stop in his tracks but he doesn't turn around. I wait for him to come to me but he doesn't. He walks away like I'm invisible. I frown at him ignoring me. I get up off the ground and ignore peoples weird stares. He walks out the school door to the garden. I follow him slowly and think about if I've upset him in someway. 

"Jake! Please slow down!" I say while touching his shoulder from behind him. He finally stops making me smile but he turns around to me with a poker face. 

"What do you want Hyejin?" he asks with a boringly firm voice. 

"I just wanted to see you geez. Did I upset you in someway?" I say while catching my breath. 

"Fine. You saw me. Now go." He says while walking even more. I finally get close enough to grab his wrist. 

"What's wrong? What did I do?" I plead. 

"Really Hyejin? Don't act all innocent." he says making me furrow my eyebrows in confusion. What??

"What do you mean? Just tell me what I did!" I say firmly. He rolls his eyes and shakes my hand off of him. 

"Are you serious Hyejin?" he says making me even more confused.

"Yea. I am. What did I do wrong?" I ask.

"Fine. You kissed Niki after acting all friendly with me. You know the best part? I was getting band aids and ointment for you while you were kissing him. Why do I even try?" Jake says making me widen my eyes. 

"What? When- oh." I say realizing what he's mad for.

"Yea. oh. Just don't come near me. I'm sick of being used." he says while walking away.
