Hiroto is a rather easygoing, calm, and confident young man with a relaxed and rather optimistic temperament. Behind his carefree and unpunctual side, Hiroto is a great romanticist at heart and likes to charm Gekka every day with whom he is in a relationship since middle school.
An artist at heart and a fan of antiques like his parents, Hiroto is also a great collector of stuffed animals which he says give him inspiration for his paintings and sculptures. Despite his heroic ambitions, Hiroto having been very much nurtured by his parents remains quite fearful especially in the presence of blood or in the dark even if he fights against these fears thanks to Gekka.

Growing up as the second son of a father with Finnish heritage and a Japanese mother, both antique dealers, Hiroto developed a deep love and appreciation for the history of art and mythical heroes. Fueled by his passion, he aspired to become a professional hero, striving to be a source of inspiration for future generations of artists. With the support of his girlfriend, Gekka, who shared in his dream, the two of them trained tirelessly to achieve their goal and successfully entered U.A. as aspiring heroes.
