Alina headed to her second-period class, Math, and rushes in to take a seat in the fourth row by the windows. She looks up at the door to see Mason, a kid that sits beside her in her chemistry class, entering the room, and following behind him were Liam and another guy that Alina didn't know. The guy that Alina didn't know took a seat at the back of the class beside the girl she now knows as Violet. This left Mason and Liam having to split up due to all the other seats being already taken- one of the only seats that were left being the spot beside Alina. The two looked at each other and then glanced at the seat beside Alina before both rushing towards her.

Liam trips up Mason and gets to the seat first with a triumphant smile. Mason glares at his friend before heading to the other side of the room for the last spot open.

"Hi," Alina tries to smile without making it look forced.

Liam then realized how much of a fool he must have looked when he had just fought Mason for the seat, his cheeks turned hot for what felt like the hundredth time that day and his heart skips a beat at the sight of Alina's warm smile.

"Uh- yeah, h-hi." He stutters, mentally facepalming himself for being such an idiot.

"Okay, class!" The teacher grabs everyone's attention including Alina, whom Liam is grateful for. He looks over at Mason and his other friend, Garrett, on the other side of the room who are both trying to hold in their laughter. Liam knows that his friends are both going to make fun of Liam for this later.

The teacher begins to go through a note that Alina tries to copy down into her notebook, but the teacher was going too fast for Alina and all of the words she wrote down turned out to be scribbles.

Next, a worksheet was given out to all the students which Alina thought was ridiculous since it was only the first day. She looks down at the questions she has to complete before the end of class, however, Alina did not remember any of this from the school program at Eichen House. She glances around the classroom to see all the other students working hard and they all seem to know what they are doing.

"You okay?" Liam whispers from beside her so they wouldn't get in trouble for talking too loud.

"Why the hell are there letters? What do 'x' and 'y's have to do with any of this?" She whispers back.

"This is a review, didn't your old school teach you any of this?" He questions, but once noticing the pained expression on her face he decides he shouldn't have said that. "Here, you can copy off my sheet, and if you'd like you can come over to my house after school and I can help teach you how to do the work." He offers.

"Uh..." Alina was surprised that he would offer to help her, "sure, yeah."

"Really?" Liam seemed surprised at her agreeing.

"Yeah," Alina nods. Liam slides his sheet closer to Alina and she begins to copy the answers quickly.

Alina stood on the front porch of the house next door to the O'Neil's. She hesitantly brought her hand up to knock on the wooden door.

One. Two. Three. She counted each knock.

Seconds later the door opened to reveal a man. "Oh, hello, you must be Alina Thomason. I'm Liam's stepdad, Mr. Geyer."

"Hi, it's nice to meet you," Alina kindly smiles.

"Come on in," he opens the door wider for Alina to walk in, "Liam is in his room. It's just upstairs, the first door on the left."
