Alina felt a pounding in her skull, a headache. But, this was not like any headache she has ever had before. This was a headache that stretched an aching pain through her whole body. A throbbing in her bones, a ringing in her ears. She tried to open her eyes, but regretted it almost instantly as she was engulfed in the terrorizing bright lights of the sun that flooded the room through the curtains- the curtain on Alina's side of the room was white while the one on Milo's side was a navy blue to match his navy blue plaid sheets on his bed- both of which were incredibly thin material.

She let out a groan, immediately covering her eyes with the palm of her hand. The light only made this aching feeling worsen.

"Ah! Sleepyhead is finally awake," Milo's chirpy voice came from across the room. Alina peaked around her hand to see him and Malia sitting on his bed, reading through his assortment of comic books for the millionth time- something they both enjoyed doing for some odd reason.

"Don't shout," Alina murmured before reaching out for her pillow, taking it out from under her head and placing it on top to cover both her ears and eyes from the horrid light that seemed twenty times brighter and the sounds that sounded twenty times louder.

"I wasn't?" Milo said though it came out with a questioning tone. Alina heard shuffling before the mattress beside her dipped under the weight of someone.

"What's wrong?" Malia's voice was laced with concern. Malia's heart had this weird feeling, one she never felt before except for a few occasions; she remember this feeling faintly from when she was younger, but more recently; when she saw those men in masks hurting Alina.

"I don't know," Alina mutters in reply, her voice muffled from the pillow. "I have a headache, but it's not just in my head. It's everywhere."

"Everywhere?" Milo's voice cracked.

"I said don't shout," Alina whines, once again.

"I didn't! That was just my voice cracking, okay?" He sighs, muttering more so to himself when he says, "I can't help it. Puberty isn't something under my control."

"Can you just close the curtains and get me some Advil, please?" She says, lifting her head slightly from under the pillow to look up at Malia. She seems hesitant and unsure at first but does so. She stands from the bed and closes the curtains, however, before she can step towards the door to go downstairs to grab Advil, the door flies open.

"Good morning!" An awfully cheerful voice exclaims causing Alina to let out a loud groan, tightening her grip on the pillow around her head. However, the pillow is ripped out from her grasp and the curtains were quickly pulled open as they were moments ago.

"Ah!" Alina lets out a holler. "The light!"

"Oh, I'm sorry, Alina. Does your head hurt?" Melissa cooed. "Oh, you poor thing"

"Remind me to never get drunk." Milo looks to Malia who nods reassuringly. And, instantly, everything clicks for Alina. The last thing she remembered was downing vodka spritzers one after the other while talking Phelix's ear off before being put into Mason's car by Kira and Scott.

Melissa motions for Milo and Malia to give her and Alina a minute to talk, and it is when the two left that she realizes Malia and Scott would still hear the conversation from wherever they are in the house anyways, making it pointless. She sighs, rubbing her temples as she sits on the edge of Alina's bed. Alina squints her eyes when she looks up at Melissa, her eyes being accustomed to the blinding light.

"Alina..." Melissa's voice takes a rather stern tone. "You are fifteen years old, soon you will be sixteen, and I know your life has been rather difficult. You have gone through things that no child should have at such a young age. I understand that you have never had the chance to really be a kid, and I don't want to be in the way of you having the experiences of a teenager, but if you and Milo are going to be living under my roof, we'll need to set some rules, some boundaries. Yeah?"
