Malia held Alina in her arms, "are you okay?" The older girl asked. Alina opened her mouth to answer, however, she did not know the answer. She felt anything but okay. Her body trembled, a vibrating feeling stinging through her veins- a feeling of electricity-, her arm throbbed with pain, and her ears ringed. She felt nothing but pain. "Alina?" A singular brow rose on Malia's concerned drawn face. Malia did not know why she asked since she could feel the pain coursing through her younger friend's body, nonetheless, she asked.
"I-I don't know," Alina spoke truthfully. "My arm hurts." Malia's expression turned, going from concerned to confused. Malia was lost as to what to do, and how to help. All she knew was that Alina was in pain.
A loud thumping sound rang through Alina's ears causing her to wince. Her ability to hear things that are typically unheard by the human ear is back as it has slowly faded away to be no use for Alina a couple of weeks back. She can hear a continuous thump- the sound of someone's heartbeat, fluttering in their chest. Two beats, a pause, and one more beat before it repeats.
Boom, boom... Boom... Boom, boom... Boom... Boom, boom... Boom.
"Come on, maybe Scott can help," Malia said while standing to her feet, pulling Alina up with her. Malia put her arm around Alina's waist to help her towards the stairs, and just as the two girls were about to turn to go up the stairs, four people appeared at the doorway, coming down the stairs. Scott, Stiles, Deaton, and Sheriff. Their gazes immediately settled on Tracy whose body lay limp behind them.
Malia and Alina's eyes widened at their accusatory gazes. "It wasn't us," Malia stated with panic as Stiles quickly moved forward, his hand going to Malia's shoulder as if to check if she is okay, a question spoken and answered through looks shared between the two. His gaze shifted to Alina who still held onto Malia. He could see the pain etched onto her face. Scott spoke up before Stiles could ask if she was okay though.
"What the hell happened to her?" Scott questioned. Malia stiffened, becoming defensive again, feeling as though she was being accused.
"There were these people," Alina spoke through gritted teeth, trying to keep the pain pushed down. "They had masks," she continued.
"Yeah, and, um- there- there were three of them. I think. I think there were three." Malia stumbled through her words, stopping when she decided it was best for Alina to do the talking.
"Wait, what are you talking about?" Stiles looked skeptical.
"They were strong, Stiles," Alina told the boy. "They had this weapon."
"Stiles, we didn't do this."
"Okay," he nodded, looking between the two girls. His eyes landing on Alina, once again, focusing mainly on her arm that was not wrapped around Malia. The arm that she held close to her chest. "What happened?"
"They hurt her," Malia answered for Alina, referring to the three people that had supposedly been in the basement.
"You sure it wasn't Tracy?" Sheriff offered the possibility. "You mean there really were three people in here with masks? I was upstairs the whole time and never saw anyone come down or up."
"You never saw Tracy come into the station either," Alina bit out. "There was someone down here, okay? Believe us or don't, just please do something. My arm really hurts." Her bottom lip trembled slightly as she spoke, the pain becoming too unbearable. Malia rubbed Alina's back in an attempt to soothe and comfort her which Alina was very appreciative of. She looked up to the older girl, giving her a warm smile in appreciation as to say 'thank you'.
Scott stepped forward, taking her arm carefully into his grip, and examining it. His claws slowly appeared, piercing her skin before his veins began to appear black on his arm, running up under his sleeve. Scott winced as his veins became more apparent. His brows were drawn inwards, eyes squinting shut, his hand that did not hold Alina's arm clutched into a fist, claws digging into his own flesh. Scott had to admit that it hurt like hell, but he did not stop, reminding himself that this was the same pain Alina was feeling. Though he could not help but question why she was not healing and why she was feeling so much pain.
