Bianca's POV

The casket was slowly lowered to the ground before a group of four people started pouring soil on top of it. My memory travelled back to the beautiful yet sad ceremony that had just been celebrated, with white flowers decorating the place and a big frame with our friend's photo hung on a tripod next to the casket, which was situated in the middle of the room.

Dark clouds hid the sun, making this a gloomier day than it would've already been. Even standing here in the graveyard felt as if there was a colder temperature here than in the rest of the city. I hated days like this.

No one uttered a word, the graveyard being in complete silence. My blank stare never left the scene in front of me and I knew the others' didn't either without the need to look at them. They were all focused on the casket until it was fully covered with soil.

I fidgeted with the hem of my back dress, my eyes now fixed on the gravestone. A sad smile morphed onto my lips reading the name engraved on it.

R. I. P.
Holden John Matthews
Loving son and brother
'Fought for my loved ones till my last breath'

~Flashback~

"We need to get out of here. Now," Holden ordered me as soon as I left Angelo's office.

"Why the hurry?" I asked almost breathlessly, though my tone didn't surprise me.

My hands and legs shook as I followed Holden through the dark hallways, the hold on the gun was not as tight as I wished it would've been.

"Savannah said there's a bomb hidden somewhere nearby, she's already getting all of your friends out," he replied to my question, to which I barely managed to nod at.

My mind was a daze, still not processing what had just happened in mere hours as I speed-walked next to Holden without asking any other questions. 'You killed your uncle,' my subconscious kept chanting as if haunting me, though I tried my hardest to keep that voice to the back of my head and focus on our current task: get out of there alive.

Holden was leading me towards what he claimed would be the exit, though I felt we've been walking for hours and we're still inside the building. The air had been awkward all the time to the point there was nothing but silence between us until I decided to break it.

"How did you and Savannah know I was here?" I asked him.

"Savannah knew Angelo was planning to kidnap you, so she bribed Chase to keep us updated. He was the one who disclosed the location Sadie found."

"And why didn't she come directly to us if she so badly wanted to help?"

"It's a long story I'm sure you'll hear about later," he sighed. "Let's just say it was safer this way."

"So," I cleared my throat, "you actually agreed to work with Savannah?"

"She's a very... persuasive woman," he hummed. "Plus, I would gladly help you out."

"Thank you," I murmured after a few seconds.

"And, one last battle wouldn't be that bad," he smiled at me.
