I am flabbergasted that DMSR got plagiarized again. I don't know if I got too comfortable or what? It's been so long since I was so blatantly bit by somebody. I'm not mad just shook because that book is so old now. I was getting ripped left and right in 2016, 2017 but it's 2022...

I was reading this book like

I was reading this book like... Is this really happening?

So, let me tell you about what happened. Years ago I got a private message where someone asked me to read their book. I get those a lot. I was busy and never had time to read the book but I always loved the cover so I was crazy excited to read it. I finally got to read it today though! Let me tell you what it consisted off.

A singer, Esmeralda, who goes by her middle name to be more marketable is signed to Arista Records as she is managed by her Uncle Tony. She has a twin sister (fraternal) named Alana who is a pastry chef. Esmeralda does a talk show in which she mentions her sisters would love to test drive Prince's corvette. She meets Prince at a club and initially thinks he's a girl. They meet at the side of the stage. When Prince realizes they are twins, Alana refers to them as "double the pleasure" before Esmeralda (who goes by Marina) has to correct her and state they are really "double the fun." Prince takes an immediate liking to Alana. They go out to a rooftop where Esmeralda has to have a drink to cool her nerves about meeting Prince. She gets so nervous that she decided to ask him random questions. He asks her what her favorite color is, in which she replies Blue. Prince proceeds to tell her Blue is the color of [insert google explanation] as her back is turned to grab her drink. She turns around and Prince is gone.

The following chapter recounts the events in Prince's point of view. It is titled, "Extra chapter".  In this chapter he reveals he saw the show when a friend brought a tape of it. He also expresses his interests in Alana and claims that he imagines he and Esmeralda will be friends for a long time.

A nervous Esmeralda receives flowers from Prince as a good luck wish for her first big show. Later on, Prince visits her backstage as she removes her makeup. Prince and Alana are an item of sort. When asked about it Prince says, "I call her. She calls me. She's cool." Esmeralda and Prince bump into one another in a studio session where she is invited to record the lead female vocals on Erotic City. The two become great friends. They grow to be so close that they develop nicknames for one another. Dovie and Munchkin. Munchkin is so comfortable with Dovie that he teases her about only having self induced orgasms. The book stopped being updated but in the last chapter before a hiatus, Dovie is invited to join Prince's next film.

Now...

I'm not dumb. I knew from first chapter that I was being bit. However, Marina was touring with Rick James for a bit and had her a little boyfriend and shit so I initially took it as nothing more than inspo considering that the author sent me the book in 2020.

It wasn't until I hit the thirteenth chapter and P was introduced that I had to sit and think of my next move

It wasn't until I hit the thirteenth chapter and P was introduced that I had to sit and think of my next move. I was going to do nothing more than inbox the author until I saw that someone else noticed the comparisons and decided to call her out.

And this was only after P met Nelly— I mean Esmeralda

And this was only after P met Nelly— I mean Esmeralda. So, I continued to read the book and commented on everything from DMSR until the author deleted the book. Then, I inboxed her to figure out what the fuck happened. Mind you, I'm not mad. I just think copying a 2016 book in 2020 is ridiculous and it took me two years to catch up. You had two years to rethink that shit. The conversation went... It went nowhere.

 It went nowhere

And then she muted me

And then she muted me.

Aside from being so shocked, I was a little annoyed because firstly, you stole from me... Not the other way around. Two, the whole Gen Z excuse was crazy like I'm not a Cusper my damn self. Three, I would've helped! I would've fucking helped. I've had all kinds of people and writers randomly inbox me and I helped them with their plots as much as they liked. The craziest part of it all is that you were stealing my work but still chose to send me your book. That's a new breed of bold. I've never been bit this hard.

One for my memoir, I guess.😂
