At the LaRusso's house, Kat sat unmoving in front of the fireplace as she clutched the blanket draped around her shoulders. Her eyes never strayed away from the crackling fire, almost like an alluring illusion. The flames stung, but nothing hurt more than the memories. The girl chewed the inside of her lips with a sideways pout. Was this the end? It began with a spark and ended with flames. She sighed faintly as tears prickled her eyes, rolling slowly down her cheeks.

Behind her, she could hear the light footsteps approaching. Could it be Nick? Would it matter if it were? Not turning around to see the approaching figure, she halfheartedly wiped the tears away and forced a sheepish smile.

"Kat?" Robby said softly. He sat next to Kat, leaving some space between the two but providing warmth and comfort. "I would ask if you're okay, but I know you aren't," he sighed, glancing at Kat.

Kat swallowed the lump that swelled in her throat before talking, "I thought I finally escaped Nick and my old life," she looked down at her hands, "but I was wrong." She lifted her head back to fight the tears that threatened to fall. "I feel so alone and unloved. I-I go to sleep and have bittersweet dreams, and then awaken to a nightmare," she winced. "I'm tired of waking up...."

Looking back at Kat, he frowned slightly. "You're not alone, Kat. I'm always here, no matter what. We will get through this together, okay?" He assured the crying girl, reaching his hand out for her to squeeze.

She nodded with hesitation but returned the gesture and held his hand. It fit perfectly in hers, and his skin was surprisingly soft and supple...

As their hands intertwined, Kat looked up to meet Robby's gaze, only to find that he returned the intimate eye contact. She could feel her breathing hitch, and Robby took notice of her mood shift.

Robby brushed the wisps of hair from Kat's face and began inching closer. "Is this okay?" He asked, his cool breath that smelled of spearmint whirled around Kat's aroma. She didn't answer. Instead, she cupped Robby's face and gently placed a kiss on his curved lips.

The brief interaction felt like sparks surrounding them. As Kat relaxed, she unintentionally broke the intimacy and sat back slightly, looking at Robby with a slight grin.

Robby's eyes fluttered open. Like marshmallows in hot chocolate, he sizzled at her touch and continued to melt. He spun his tongue around the outer rim of his lips. He wanted more, but it was wrong. Kat is in a dark place right now. Should we be doing this?

Before Robby debated the ethics of their intimate encounter, Kat didn't hold back on locking lips again. This time, she sank deeper. Now, Kat relaxed into the soft, plumpness of Robby's puckered lips. A soft moan escaped from Robby as he pulled Kat in closer to his muscular, well-built arms.

Kat pecked a kiss on Robby's cheek while still wrapped in his arms. Then rested her feather-like head-on Robby's chest. It wasn't as welcoming as Hawk's, and it felt solid and almost stiff. Still, it didn't matter. She wanted nothing more than to be held in an embrace and cradled like a child's teddy bear.

As the night went on, Kat felt like she was drifting away. Her eyes began to flutter shut as her breathing slowed down. Robby felt Kat fall limp while cradled in his arms, and while he didn't mind being slept on, he feared what Sam or Mr. LaRusso would think if they caught the two. Still wrapped in a cozy blanket, he placed one arm beneath Kat's upper back and the other under her legs, then slowly led her towards a lounge chair in the room. There, he smiled at Kat, who remained in a peace-ridden state.

"Goodnight," he whispered, placing a kiss on her forehead. Robby then walked out of the room and made his way to his guest room in LaRusso's house, the spare room.
