James Braganza is a young boy who enjoys meeting Mrs. Daisy, a lonely old widow who bakes him cookies. He visits her every day after school, and reads to her after eating cookies. Mrs Daisy, who has almost no company, enjoys being with him. One day, while she is there, she begins to undergo a transformation, becoming younger. However, James returns home very tired. His parents promise him that their next meeting will be his last. The next day, he stays longer, and Mrs. Daisy is back to her younger self. However, James' physical energy runs out, and on his way home turns to dust and is carried away by the wind.
