Chapter 121

HeavenLeigh POV

"Sometimes it feels cold
And you feel all aloneeee
But hold on, better days are coming" I sang.

I was at church, all of us were.

And I definitely needed to be here after everything.

I've been so stressed lately, I just feel like life been moving fast and then this whole situation with Avery is messing me up. I hate that he did this.

And I hate that we had to shape him, and put him behind bars.

But even my parents said if that didn't happen, he would probably be dead.

So hopefully whenever he gets out he'll be better.

So here I am, at church with Roddy, Remy, Kamal, Miyon and Skylar, singing my heart out because it was much needed.

"It can be rough in this world
I know it ain't easy but hang on in there
I know better days are coming

I closed my eyes and lifted one hand up as I continued.

Roddy POV

"Friends will leave you all by yourself

My baby was up there singing, and I could tell she wanted to break down.

I stood up, just in case, and to continue to motivate her through this, I been trying to be there for her as much as possible.

But I know being here is a HUGE help for her.

"You wanna help me stay better
Better days, for your mother and your father
Your sister and your brother
Don't you worry, don't you worry
Don't you worry whyyyyyy" She sang before hitting a high note.

"Sang baby! Come on!" Her mom said standing up and clapping for her.

I was already standing up and I was clapping as she continued, I seen her dad standing to the side, looking like a proud father.

"Better, better, better
Thank you Jesus, oh Lord
He's gonna wipe the tears from your eyes
Better days, better days are coming" She sang.

I seen a tear run down from her face.

"It's aight baby, it's aight" I mumbled as I just watched her.

I looked over and seeing Skylar with her hand up and her eyes were closed, and Kamal was watching Heaven.

I don't know what was going on with Remy but she was crying lightly and Miyon had her arm around her.

I think it's something else going on in her head.

"You better sing baby!" Her mom said, and everybody was pretty much standing up at this point.

"Oooh look to the hills
And with all of your help

It comes from the Lord
Better, better days are coming
Better days are coming sooooonnnnn" She sang before finishing.

We all clapped for her giving her a standing ovation and she just put her head down before she just started crying.

Her mother and father walked up to her, and the musicians kept playing the piano and the guitar. I seen her father put his hand on her back and started praying for her. Her mother was right beside her as well, placing her hand on Heaven's head.
