Who's excited to read? Here you go! Hope you enjoy.

A long update. Last chapter had very less response. Is the ending detaching the readers?

Dedicated to @Puja.

Happy Friendship Day.

"Anything else, Sir?" Aarush shook his head at his house help, before going back to toying with his food. His favorite Alfredo pasta didn't look appealing to him, nothing did. His world felt at pause, devoid of any charm, with just a hollow feeling imbibing its way inside his chest. He mindlessly pushed the food around the plate. Aksh was his world, and his ignorance made his world amiss of any colour. It was all black and white to his eyes now.

He looked up when he heard scrapping of the chair on the floor. Aksh silently settled down beside him and took his plate before stabbing some pasta with the fork and brought it closer to his lips, "Open." He mouthed when Aarush simply watched Aksh like he couldn't believe that his bhaiyuu was there. He wanted to comply his bhai's words straightway, like always, but his throat lumped up painfully.

"Champ." Aarush gulped loudly. There. The faded colors slithered their way back like a homeless breathed home after ages. Aksh ruffled his hairs, "You can punish your dense brother later. First, eat up." Aarush couldn't even sob at the relief, he wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. He felt his life paving its path back into him. He parted his lips obediently. When has he ever denied his brother?

Aksh looked at the kid with his heart swelling up painfully. How could he do this to his champ? He fed him, while Aarush looked down as he ate. Why did something so precious to his heart felt so painful right now. The world came back with tears, the pent up tears he caged behind his eyes every night he went to sleep, not allowing himself to cry even when his world felt torn apart with his brother's ignorance.

"You've been not eating." Aksh stated, when Aarush denied after few spoonfuls. Aarush looked down further on his lap.

He fucking missed this care.

He chose to answer to Aksh's question by bringing the spoon towards Aksh. Aksh's eyes softened further as he ate. "A silent treatment, champ?" Aarush wanted to speak, but he was rather met with widening lumps in his air channels. Aksh silently berated himself. How can he let his insecurities and fear hurt his champ like that?

He was so stupid.

Aarush went away to keep the plates in the sink. Aksh felt his head bursting. Mentally he was at an insane place, with no relief, it was a dark canvas, hollow yet so loud. Aarush came back and saw Aksh squeezing his fists. He dragged Aksh without a word towards the couch, before he started pressing his temples. The loud voices in Aksh's brain paused for a second. The way this kid understood his unspoken words made his hell of a life worth suffering.

He closed his eyes with a smile and let the peace settle in, just for a while before the voices would ring louder. He held Aarush's hands after few minutes before he made him settle down near him. Aksh rested his head on his lap, "C-ham-p-p." He whispered, "I-I-I'm scare-d." He confessed.

"I'm scared of the very next moment. I'm scared to leave, I'm scared to stay. Why is it all so scary? I don't remember being like this. It's a strange place in my mind. It's terrific, a silent burn yet so lethally destroying. I-I-It feels like a cag-e, deluding me to give into the darkness." Aarush felt his tears close, so close. He had battled for his life, yet Aksh's pain hits him different, maybe cause Aksh was the definition of life to him now.
