~ Ana POV ~
As I woke up from my unsatisfying sleep, it takes me longer than I care to admit to realize why it was unsatisfying. I wasn't in my bed. I wasn't even laying down. I was strapped to a wooden chair with my arms and legs wrapped tightly, too tightly for even me to break out of.
I was kidnapped, and I couldn't remember how I got here or who took me.
I blearily blinked my eyes, noting happily that my visor was still on my eyes and my mask was still on, so whoever kidnapped me wasn't after my identity. That means I was probably here as bait for Batman or something.
I looked around the room I was in. It was dark, looked like a home office in a house or large apartment judging by the size of the curtained window. There was a book shelf with boring looking textbooks on it and a large desk. The most notable features of the room was how neat and relatively upscale everything looked. Even the quality of the chair I was strapped to was nice, like something I would find in Wayne manor. So whoever took me was decently wealthy.
"Ah, you're finally awake." I hear from behind me, and note that must be where the door to the room is. "My apologies for the rough handling from last night, though I must admit, I figured my men would have received more of a fight from you, Shadow." The voice walks over to stand in front of me, and I roll my eyes at who it is.
"Carmine Falcone." I say in casual greeting to the wealthiest and most influential mob boss in Gotham. "Before you start your evil monologue, can you tell me how long I've been here?"
He chuckles indulgently at me as if what I said was like a child being adorable. "Always straight to the point with you Bats, I like that." He says airily. "You've been here for about five hours now."
"Is that all?" I ask in surprise. "Hmmm, I've got some time to kill then." I mutter to myself. "Any possibility of being able to lay down instead of sit? I'm still tired and my head is wounded." I ask innocently. I haven't dealt with Falcone much, but I've dealt with his underlings at times. Usually as Nightingale though, and usually I was just killing or maiming them, not having a conversation with them.
"Would you like me to fluff your pillows too and leave a mint on them?" He sneers at me before nodding to someone behind me. I feel a painful crack over my head, which while expected and rude, also helped remind me how I got kidnapped.
As my head pulsed and my body was knocked to the floor from the hit, I remembered that I had been cut off by a van while I was tiredly riding home on my bike. I really shouldn't have gone out last night, I'm a little too past my limit.
"Where we standing on that pillow?" I ask sarcastically from my fetal position, feeling the chair bite into my shoulder painfully but not showing that pain. "I promise not to fall asleep while you explain why you kidnaped me."
"You've got a terribly overconfident attitude." Carmine observes, sitting on his desk to look down at me. "Such overconfidence will get you killed. You think you can rob me and interrupt my business? Batman is going to pay for those weapons, and I think we'll take that payment out on you. I lost my weapons, he can lose one of his." He finishes darkly at me, and I just sigh out tiredly.
This is going to suck. But, also not my first time being kidnapped. Totally normal event within the Bat clan. Hell, Tim was just kidnapped like three months ago. We rescued him within six hours, so I'm basing my timing off that.
One of the mobsters from behind me hauls my chair back up straight, and I groan in pain as my head feels like it's splitting open, and I can feel the blood slowly trickling down the side of it from the latest blow.
