Fox? Wasn't it elephant?

Hogwarts, Fifth year.

THE FIRST THING that Phoenyx had noticed was the quiet sobs coming from a boy sitting on her right. Slowly opening her eyes, she looked towards the boy and realised it was Remus and he was crying while holding her hand towards his face.

"Remus?" she asked with a frown.

Hearing her voice, the boy's head snapped towards the girl and revealed his bloodshot eyes.

He had been waiting for his Nyx to wake up. All this time, even though he knew that the girl was going to be okay, he couldn't help but think that something terrible would happen.

The whole day, he couldn't help but think, what will i ever do without her?

"Nyx, Oh God! I thought something had happened to you. I told you not to come Nyx, look at what happened. My wolf, i-it probably went crazy again," he ranted all white tearing up.

Phoenyx was about to tell him that it wasn't his fault. In fact, his wolf was the one protecting her, not harming her.

However, before she could say anything, the doors of the room burst open and three boys ran in while holding a variety of things in their arms.

"Phoenyx! Thank Merlin you're okay! You gave me a fright there little one, mum would've killed me if something happened to you!" James said while engulfing her in a hug.

From the corner of her eye, Phoenyx could see a black haired boy standing with his arms behind his back. Eyes darting around looking for a way to escape.

"Sirius?" Phoenyx had said.

The boy's eyes snapped towards the girl and immediately after, he was letting out apologies after apologies with no breaks in between.

"Sirius, its okay! I'm okay and everything is fine, stop apologising please," the girl said with a giggle.

Remus looked over at the two with confusion all over his face. Why was Sirius apologising to Phoenyx with such intensity in his voice?

"Whats going on? Why's he apologising all of a sudden?" he asked with confusion.

"Erm well.." Sirius couldn't get a single word out of his mouth. He was afraid. He was afraid that just like last time, Remus would be upset at him all over again.

"Moony, he might have accidentally, you know, pushed Phoenyx a bit. Hence why she's here right now, in the hospital wing," replied Peter while rubbing his hands together.

Remus shot up from his seat and looked towards Sirius with widened eyes.

What?

"You did this to her? I told you to be careful didn't I!" Remus shouted towards the boy.

As he was advancing towards Sirius with a frown, he felt someone hold his arm back with a delicate touch.

"Remus, he didn't know. Don't forget that," she said with a frown etched on her face.

Remus knew that it wasn't his friends fault. However, he still felt angry.

Not at Sirius, but at himself. He felt stupid for letting Phoenyx put herself in danger like that. No matter how many times she'd console him, he was still a monster in his own eyes.

He felt as though, all along, it was because of Remus that his Nyx was in the hospital wing, all bandaged up and in pain.

If it wasn't for him, for the full moon, Phoenyx wouldn't have gotten hurt.

If it wasn't because of his lycanthropy, she would've been okay.

"If you lot are done arguing, mind if we discuss the fox in the room?" James had said with a worried look on his face.

"Fox? Wasn't it elephant?" Peter asked with confusion.

"Yeah well, Phoenyx is a fox, is she not?"

"Yeah well, Phoenyx is a fox, is she not?"
