I kissed Regulus.

Hogwarts, sixth year.

IT WAS ALMOST time for Christmas break and for most of the students, Hogwarts had been really boring after the Halloween party.

Ever since that night, Phoenyx and Remus had taken their sweet time to explore each others bodies like a puzzle. Littering the once clear skins with marks from their intimate moments.

"Remus, the others could be here any moment now," the girl said breathlessly.

Instead of replying to the girl, Remus continued planting soft kisses on the girl's neck, his absolute favourite spot.

"Shag my sister later, would you Moony?"

Pulling away from Phoenyx with an annoyed groan, Remus laid down on the grass with his head in the girl's lap. Naturally, Phoenyx started to do what Remus had loved the most, have his hair played with.

"Where's Alice?" Remus asked while closing his eyes.

"Out with Frank, probably."

The Gryffindors sat together near the Black Lake, something they did very often. Whenever the friends would have free time on their hands, they would meet up at their spot and hangout until it would be time for lunch.

They even had a secret pact. Once they were out of Hogwarts, they'd meet up at the exact spot every year.

"Prongs mate, why do you look so down?" asked Sirius while raising his eyebrows.

James looked at his friends and sighed. He didn't know if opening up to them would be a good idea. However, his thoughts were starting to eat him alive.

"I kissed Regulus."

The students stared at him with their mouths gaped open, silence lingering around them for quite a few minutes.

"I-well, why are you upset?" asked Marlene.

"He's ignoring me now, did i do something wrong?"

At his words, Sirius rolled his eyes. He knew that his little brother had probably felt scared. Even though he understood the boy's fears, Sirius had hoped that Regulus would start to forget about his parents soon enough.

"Why don't you go talk to him?" asked Lily Evans.

The girl was disappointed, she really was. But looking at James be so happy with the boy, she couldn't help but be happy for him too.

"You don't think i've tried that Evans?" he replied with a frown.

Phoenyx looked at her brother with worry etched across her face. She could tell that James was starting to get very upset about the whole ordeal.

"I have an idea!" Sirius said with a loud voice.

"No Pads, we are not shoving them both in a broomstick closet and forcing them to talk."

"Well, let's hear your idea then!"

"How about you talk to him Pads? He's your brother, i'm sure Reg would open up to you somehow," said Remus.

James looked at the boy with hopeful eyes. At the sight of him, Sirius let out a defeated scoff and agreed to help his best mate out.

"I can't believe i'm setting up my brother and my best mate," he said while rolling his eyes.

Later that night, when most of the students had gone to bed, Regulus and Sirius met up at the astronomy tower, a place the two regularly visited.

"Why are you ignoring him Reg?"

Regulus ran his hand through his hair and sighed. He knew this conversation was coming, he just wasn't prepared for it.

"I-I'm scared Siri, you know that. No matter where i go, I feel like mother and father would just pop up and murder me with their bare hands. I'm a mess Siri, i don't deserve him," he said with tears pooling up in his eyes.

Sirius grabbed the boy by his arm and pulled him into a hug. The two were struggling in their own ways. However, Sirius had so many different people that are able to comfort him. But Regulus? He has no one.

Yes, he has friends in Slytherin, but could you really blame him?

"Reg, you don't have to be scared anymore. Mother and father, they will never get to us. I'll protect you with my whole entire life if i have to," Sirius said while stroking his brother's head.

Regulus couldn't help but let the sobs in him break free. All this time, he had been keeping his feelings bottled in.

Getting closer to James had really scared the boy. He often thought that somehow, one of these days, he would mess up.

And even though he knew James was one of the kindest souls he has ever met, he still felt like the boy would lash out on him out of anger and annoyance.

"Talk to him, would you? He's devastated."
