1) Tell us a little about yourself
Well firstly I'm a singer/songwriter, my name is Caerys (you can find my songs on Spotify/apple music etc if you'd like to check them out) I'm 22 years old from the UK. I'm a first time author, I only just started writing my book Turning Crimson last year but I've been writing my music for years so thought I'd give it a try, and I love it!
2) What's your favorite author? Favorite book? They can be from Wattpad or elsewhere.
My favourite book is The Maze Runner, I love it so much! the entire series. My song 'follow me' is actually loosely based on the maze runner :)
3) How long have you been writing?
I've been songwriting since I was little but writing books only since last year.
4) Why you do write? What's your inspiration?
I've always loved to tell stories within my music, and just thought I'd give writing a book a go. I've always been interested in the supernatural, I grew up watching Teen Wolf, The Vampire Diaries, Twilight and they all hold a special place in my heart. So right from the beginning I knew that's the vibe I wanted for my own series.
5) What's your preferred genre?
Paranormal, supernatural, romance, comedy. That whole YA vibe
6) What was your first written story?
My first written story is Turning Crimson: Secrets Of Thorn Manor. It's a vampire series, with romance, comedy and a lot of sarcasm. It has that whole supernatural comedy angst tv show vibe :)
7) What's your writing process?
My writing process is putting on a Spotify playlist that I made for the exact book I'm writing, and planning out where the books going to go. Music plays a bit part in it for me, it helps me layout my story.
8) What are your current writing projects? Can you give us a teaser?
I'm currently writing the second book in my Turning Crimson Series, you are not ready for what happens ;)
9) Do you have any unpublished stories? If so, why and do you ever plan to publish them?
Yeah I've got a couple other projects I'm working on, one about a girl who can control the elements. But I want to get my first series out there first and continue writing that before I start writing more :)
10) As a writer, what's the most challenging aspect?
Hmmm the most challenging aspect is probably having to leave to go to work or something when I'm mid way through writing, haha once I start I don't want to stop.
11) Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years I hope I'd of released more of my music, put out some music vids and be out there in the world doing live gigs. I hope to get my series published and I'm working towards that as one of my priorities right now, I'm really passionate about this book and love it with my whole heart :)
12) Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?
Just keep writing, find what you love and just keep at it, no matter what :)
