Anyway, I heard Charles is starting at the back of the grid for COTA hahaha could this season get any better? 👍🏻

Enjoy!

February 15, 2025 - Monaco

After meeting with my landlord, Gabby and I decided to go out for some much needed lunch. We found a French restaurant near my new apartment and opted to get a table outside to enjoy the weather. While waiting for our orders, I pulled out a brown leather notebook that I usually brought with me. It was filled with random things— grocery lists, things I needed to do for work, and random reminders in case I forgot some important details.

"How big do you think the dining table should be?" I asked her as I went over the measurements I took from my apartment.

"For six, at most." She said, taking a sip from the tropical juice she ordered.

"You really think I need that much space?" I don't know anyone in Monaco yet and I was only expecting to be friends with a few people at first, most of them probably from work.

"Yes and because you don't have a separate room for an office. I figure you'd be using the table mostly for work." She explained and I realized that she was right, taking note of it on my notebook. "What else do you have left?"

I showed her the small sketch I drew up showing how I wanted the furniture to be placed around the apartment. I had a separate page for the bedroom but that was easy enough since I'd only need the bed itself, a small bedside table, and a vanity table for the mirror I planned to hang on the wall. If ever I needed something else, I'll just buy it then. "I still have this blank space by the wall, just beside the balcony doors." I said, pointing to the sketch.

Gabby pursed her lips, thinking of what to place there as well, before her eyes brightened. "I have an idea."

I gave her a look, hesitating, as she grinned at me. "I have mixed feelings about your ideas." I said, closing the notebook and returning it to my bag.

"I think you'll like this one but I'm keeping it a secret for now. Just send me the measurements."

"But—"

"Nope." She said, raising a finger in front of me. At this very second, the waiter arrived with our food. "There's no use convincing me otherwise so don't."

I pouted my lips and glared at her, taking a spoonful of my risotto. Deciding to change the subject, I asked, "What happened with you and that guy from the bar?"

"I'm meeting him again tonight." I raised an eyebrow, completely shocked. For her to see him again meant the guy was interesting enough for her to say yes to a date.

"Does this mean I get a quiet night to myself?" I smiled and Gabby rolled her eyes at me but a small smile covered her lips.

"Yes, but please promise me you won't lock yourself in the hotel. There's still more to Monaco."

I shrugged my shoulders, not really having a concrete plan yet. I expected us to go out again tonight but because of the change of plans, I think I'll explore the lesser known tourist spots in Monaco. Besides, I'm not up for partying on my own because I think I'll just end up drowning myself in alcohol.
