Kevin
"You're pregnant."
"Yes."
"How far are you."
"Ten weeks on Monday."
Rumbling through the kitchen looking for something hard to drink I kept replaying that in my head over and over again.
She's pregnant, she's mòtherfùcking pregnant.
"You okay?" She stood by the door and asked.
"Where's the alcohol?" I asked now looking through the cupboards.
"We don't have any."
Slamming the door shut with my back still turned to her and my head down I tried to relax my nerves.
"So, what do you wanna do?" I asked her.
"What you mean?" She asked me raising her voice a little.
I remained silent.
"I hope you aren't asking me what I think you trying to ask me."
Turning around I looked at her before biting my tongue.
"I'm just surprised, Tamia."
"I get that but you knew the consequences of having sex with or without a fùcking condom." She stared at me.
"I'm not gonna force you in-"
"Stop we Ain't even gonna go there I might be freaking me out right now but I'm in this for the long hall remember." I said as I came up yourself her.
"Yeah.. But it's just not what you wanted." She started to tear up.
"Tamia..." I called to her.
"I knew kids weren't on the top of your list, so I get it I do but..." She stopped to clear her throat.
"What do you want, we both have an option here."
"I want you." I answered with no hesitation.
"And I want this baby, Can you deal with that?"
"I'm not going anywhere."
"That's not what I asked you."
"What you want from me Tamia I'm trying here." I snapped.
"Something you're obviously not ready to do."
"And what's that."
"Be a father." She moved to leave the room when I grabbed her hand.
"Wait." I pulled her to me.
" We're in this together, okay just be patient with me please. "
So what do we do now?" I asked her cause I was completely clueless.
"I don't know, I-I-I just been trying to-to stay strong, you know but I'm scared Kevin, you're not the only one. I was to graduate school and go to one of the top colleges and-"
"And you will I promise you that. It's just gonna be more work than the normal person."
"I know, I try to keep positive with my head in the books and all, I spoke to my guidance counselor so I know graduating while pregnant shouldn't be a problem but afterwards..."
"We'll figure it out." She nodded give me a sad smile.
"Holy shìt! I'm a be a daddy." She instantly busted out laughing.
