"I need a drink ." I said walking into the kitchen where both Toya and Mark where eating a home cook meal .

"Here." Toya hands me a red plastic cup I throw it back before I frowned and turned back to Toya.

"When I said drink I didn't mean Apple juice."

"Well then don't ask my pregnant ass no mo'." She went back to her meal.

"Why you so on edge." Mark asks.

"Um having dinner at my dad's,"

"So that doesn't seem so bad."

"With my mother, brother and Johanna." I finished.

"Let me get the patron."

"What's Poppin!" Kevin bust through the front door .

"Hey."

"Tamia I thought you had dinner with yo fam."

"I do."

"Here you go." Mark sat the bottle and shot glass in front of me pouring me a glass.

"Thank you." I throw it back feeling the burn.

"Nervous." Kevin chuckled.

"Yeah, a litt– a lot."

"Why are you here Kev." I asked.

"My sister and brother both had plans, what can I say I'm Lonely."

"You should go with Tamia, she'll give you company and you'll keep her sane."

"I don't know, yo family ain't really my cup of tea. Plus last time I saw yo mom's we had words ."

"I know, I understand if it's too much." I gave him a slightly sad face I ain't want it to seem like I'm selling too hard to fast.

"I'll just go by myself no biggie."

"Ugh how long would I have to stay?" I giggled inside.

"Just through dinner, an hour the most."
