*first person pov* (the words in italic means its a flashback)

It's the third day, we've been walking pretty much non stop and pretty much have only stopped for sleep and eating. We stumble upon a chamber with ropes and ladders, probably the place where the dwarves used to mine.

And for fucking hell's sakes me nor him have talked to each other ever since that day.

Everytime I feel like I've had the courage to apologize to him he either avoids me or talks with Aragorn or Gimli or literally anyone else instead.

rude much?

But anyways i pretty much gave up on taking to him and just told Aragorn the whole thing that happened instead.

"And I pretty much just hurted his feelings instead....hurray!" I say weakly to Aragorn

"Oh that is very bad..." Aragorn says with his hand on his chin, thinking of  what i had said.

"yeah no shit, and now it's official. Legolas officially hates me." I say with my head in my hands

"Hey don't say that, you never know what goes on in that elf's head. He's just bitter that you left him, but deep down he still cares for you" aragorn says in an attempt to comfort me while he rubs his hands on my back

"but he has never and i mean never been mad at me like this before Aragorn, he would be mad at me sometimes but not mad enough to completely ignore me for weeks like this" I tell him with frantic and maniacal hand gestures.

"You just have to try apologize to him Mae, if he still wont listen to you just tie him in a chair." He says and I smirk, raising an eyebrow at him

"i didn't know you had such maniacal thoughts in your head oh aragorn son of Arathorn, we might make a pirate out of you yet!" I tell him and he chuckles

"yes, I'll even help with kidnapping him and knocking him out too" He says to me and we laugh together, not realizing that Legolas was watching us from afar.

and now- we are now like I said, in a chamber where dwarves used to mine. And unfortunately, I was walking behind legolas. At least it was better than walking infront of him because this way I could make faces at him and glare at him instead! It's actually very fun and satisfying.

Gandalf then touches a shining substance on the wall

"the wealth of Moria was not in gold or jewels but in mithril" he says facing towards the rest of the fellowship, he then points his staff towards the empty space of the mines and enhances the light he has on his staff and holy fuck.

the depth of the mines are endless. I look down in amazement and awe, Legolas looks down but then subtly looks at me. he thought I didn't notice so I looked back at him and he tears his eyes away from me, flustered. I smirk at him and continue to look down, at the endless abyss.

gandalf retracts his staff and says to us as we walk forward "Bilbo had a set of mithril rings, that thorin gave him." damn mithril rings? now that would make a lot of money

"Oh that was a kingly gift!" Gimli exclaims

"Yes, I never told him. but it's worth was greater than the value of the shire" Gandalf says as he leads the way

"and I know just a certain someone who would pay a lot for those rings, too bad It's Bilbo's. I'll feel bad robbing his house and selling his belongings, especially since someone made an auction at his house and sold his stuff before-" I thought to myself before shaking my head, dismissing those thoughts away
