It was just a spell right?

Enid's pov:

When I wake up the first thing I see is Wednesday standing above me.
-"you ok?"
She asks.
-"um yeah what happened?"
My head is killing me.
-"how much do you remember of the past few days?"
-"um I remember winning the Poe cup, talking to Bianca about Ajax and Xavier, and other than that I think I remember we have a test tomorrow?"
Wednesday hesitates for a moment.
-"That's all?"
-"I remember you being weirdly nicer, though that could've just been a dream"
-"of course"
-"my head's killing me, what all happened?"
I say looking at the broken pieces of shell.
-"you...you were under some sort of spell that made you act very affectionate towards me, this shell was what broke the spell"
I froze from embarrassment.
-"were you...also affectionate with me?"
I ask.
-"I called you my best friend but that's all"
I felt my face heat up again. I was Wednesday's best friend??
-"sorry for probably being such a bother these past few days"
I say bashfully.
-"you were under a spell it's not your fault, for once"
There's then a brief moment of silence.
-"Anyways it's getting late and you must be tired. Good night Enid"
She says, hesitantly patting my head.

Wednesday's pov:

The book had said Enid may forget most of what happened but I didn't realize it'd hurt so much. A few more hours pass and neither of us are asleep yet. We're both just starting up at the ceiling.
-"Wednesday"
I hear her say and I turn a bit to face her but she remains looking at the roof.
-"I know we kissed.."
She says. I remain silent.
-"Was it really just because of a spell?
She asks.
-"you said you loved me, was that just the spell?"
I ask, looking back up at the roof. We remain silent. Enid laughs a bit.
-"dang spells are crazy huh?"
She asks.
-"you have no idea"
I reply sullenly.
