Wednesday's pov:

I walk out to the front yard to inspect the burned wording in the grass.
-"hey"
Xavier says walking up to me.
-"I thought we weren't on speaking terms?"
-"well I was at your party wasn't I?"
-"and who says I'm ready to talk to you?"
I question.
-"last night at the crypt you had a vision. You still think I'm the monster, don't you?"
I think for a moment.
-"...I haven't ruled it out yet"
I reply. He's clearly offended.
-"alright well when I'm cleared give me a call"
He says walking away. Thing hops onto my shoulders.
*aww that boy likes you*
-"stop it"
I reply with a glare.
*you really sure he's the monster?*
Thing asks.
-"there's a strong possibility"
*you know...it's your birthday, you shouldn't be here inspecting a possible crime scene you should be out having fun with Enid*
I shoot him a glare.
*I mean Tyler*
He cowers. I sigh.
-"I just don't want to celebrate my birthday, what don't you people understand? The only one not bugging me is Eugene"
*then you should go visit him*
Thing suggests. I think for a moment.
-"yeah perhaps I should, alright I'll visit the hospital"
I open my bag and Thing hops in, we then begin our walk into town.

Enid's pov:

I watch from the room as Wednesday and Thing leave the school.
-"wish she'd hang with me once in a while"
I mumble as I gather up my dirty clothes. It's been three days since parents weekend ended and me and Wednesday haven't really talked since. Things were going so good... did my crying drive her away? It was such a sad movie though! Ugh I don't know, I thought we were friends but it is quite possible I was wrong.

Wednesday's pov:

-"I haven't always been against birthdays...each one reminds me I'm a year closer to deaths cold embrace. What's not to like about that? Besides my parents always made sure that my birthdays were memorable"
I say nodding my head as I remember my favorite past birthdays.
-"perfect surprise. The perfect cake. And of course the perfect party games...but now I just wish today was over"
I say looking down at Eugene's unconscious body. Just then my therapist walks through the door carrying flowers for Eugene.
-"oh! Happy birthday Wednesday"
She says with a smile.
-"what's so happy about it?"
I reply coldly. She clears her throat.
-"just here to drop these off for Eugene, how'd your parents weekend go?"
-"my mother and I spent some quality time together, and I managed to keep my father out of prison"
I say, quit impressed with myself.
-"well that's good, it's also nice to see you here checking up on a friend. Perhaps your warming up a bit"
She says with a smile as she places the flowers down.
-"I want to assure you I remain just as cold and heartless as I was the first day we met."
I say sternly as an odd sense of anger builds up. She nods.
-"I doubt a cold heartless person would be sitting by her friend's bedside feeling some modicum of guilt for his condition"
She replies.
-"whatever"
I say storming out of the room. Though I'm not in the best mood I decide to stop at the weathervane to do more research. After about five minutes of reading my book someone slides over a coffee with "happy birthday" written on the top with foam. I look up and it's Tyler.
-"I know your usually a quad kinda girl but I've been workin' on that all week"
He says with a slight smile as he sits across from me. Yes friends are distractions but I really don't mind Tyler.
-"thanks. Though I wish this dreaded day would be over"
-"oh? Not a big fan of birthdays?"
He asks with a smile.
-"It's just like any regular day, except with a stupid song"
I reply.
-"how about a normal song free dinner?...is that something you'd be interested in?"
I stare at him blankly for a moment then slide over the drawing of the gates from my vision.
-"have you seen that before?"
I ask.
-"I-it's from the old gates mansion"
-"interesting"
I say, grabbing the picture back.
-"ok d-did I do something? I feel like ever since the Rave'N you've kinda been ghosting me"
Before I can answer his father walks in and he stands up.
-"tall black two sugars to go?"
His father nods.
-"hi son"
-"hi dad"
Tyler says annoyed as he walks off.

Enid's pov:

As I'm cleaning up the room I notice there's no sign of Wednesday's snood anywhere! Oh no did she lose it?? Oh wait maybe she's wearing it? That'd be sweet, I feel like she hasn't appreciated anything I've done for today.

Wednesday's pov:

Me and Thing decide to find Xavier. As we walk into his shed we see him painting with loud music on as he's practically throwing paint at the canvas. He then notices us and pauses his music.
-"what's up?"
He asks, out of breath. I hand him my drawing of the gates from the vision. He smiles.
-"come to me for drawing lessons?"
He asks with a slight laugh.
-"I saw that in a vision. Do you recognize it?"
He examines it.
-"hmm yeah actually, I did a drawing like this a while ago"
-"show me"
He nods.
-"right over here"
He says pointing at on of his drawing thumbtacked to the wall.
-"I saw it in a dream"
Yeah likely story.
-"when did you draw it?"
I ask.
-"I dunno..it's the old gates mansion"
He replies, looking at it. Thing then snaps and we both look over. Thing then uncovers one of Xavier's paintings. It's me. Xavier sighs and I walk over to the painting.
-"after the dance I just wanted to forget about you but I couldn't..."
He then used his powers to bring the painting to life. It's quite beautiful honestly.
-"I saw you playing your cello a few times. I feel like it's the only time I get to see the real you"
He says as the painting continues to move. This is sweet...but I like Tyler. Xavier and Enid are just annoying distractions as of now. Without saying a word I walk out of the shed.
