Enid's pov:

-"ok. We've only got 35 hours to prepare each and every one of you for Saturday"
Wednesday says, marching back and forth.
-"well except Ajax that is"
We all turn and see him wave as he sits at the top of the bleachers. Xavier raises his hand.
-"yes?"
Wednesday says, pointing at him with her blade.
-"is this where the tournament will be held?"
-"no. This is just for practice, small one on one matches, and balls"
We all nod. Suddenly I'm feeling quite nervous. This tournament thing seems to be quite serious.

-"licuit! Get into pairs, Enid and Xavier, Yoko and Bianca"
We all get up and split into pairs. This gym is about the same size as the one in Nevermore, quite impressive actually.
-"just do a practice spare and I'll see where your at and how much you need to improve"
Me and Bianca raise our hands.
-"yes Enid?"
Wednesday asks.
-"why can't I partner with Yoko? She was my partner back at Nevermore"

-"yes well that's exactly why. I want to challenge you two. Xavier is pretty decent and should be a challenge for you, and Bianca has more than proved herself as a fencer"
-"well yeah exactly, why do I even have to practice then?"
Bianca says. Wednesday rolls her eyes.
-"I just want to see how well you actually are, I just need you to help Yoko and I'll help Xavier and Enid"
Bianca nods.
-"Licuit!"
Wednesday yells.
-"dignitates...parata..? Et incipe!"

I have no clue what she says but suddenly Xavier lunges forward. Shit. He smiles.
-"she told us to begin"
He whispers.
-"yeahhh I've been learning a bit of Latin"
I roll my eyes and lunge forward. He pivots behind me and claims first point.

-"very good Xavier"
Wednesday says with an approving nod. Xavier smiles and playfully scrunches his face at me.

Wednesday's pov:

-"kidsss dinners in an hour, perhaps you should start getting ready?"
My mother says, entering the gym.
-"yes Mrs. Addams!"
Yoko, Xavier, and Ajax reply in unison. My mother smiles and shuts the door again. Bianca rolls her eyes.
-"god damn simps"
Xavier sticks his hands up and laughs a bit.
-"hey what's fine is fine"
He says.

-"that's my mother"
I say, shooting him a glare. His expression changes to a more guilty one. He awkwardly laughs.
-"r-right, sorry. A-anyways! How'd we do today?"
-"quite good actually, I think you all should be able to last a bit against my family. Oh but Enid I'd like to work with you a bit more tomorrow"
She nods.

Enid's pov:

Wednesday begins walking out and the rest of us follow.
-"tsk tsk tsk, it's pretty shameful huh? Embarrassing your girlfriend? Damn and even in front of her family"
Xavier whispers to me.
-"I'm getting better Xavier, I can't possibly embarrassed her that much"
-"your forms bad and you haven't gotten a point all day. Wednesday noticed, I noticed, and her family will notice, yo A!"
He says, running off to Ajax. I walk with Wednesday till we reach her room.

-"why am I the only one who needs extra practice?"
I ask, folding my arms.
-"you just need a bit more improvement than the others"
She says with a shrug.
-"do you think I won't stand a chance? Do you think I'll embarrass you?"
I ask, growing upset. Wednesday sighs.
-"my family is just really competitive and-"
-"I'm not that bad, I'm good Wednesday. And why won't you tell me about your dream? WHY won't you tell me what you and Xavier talk about!?"

She sighs.
-"I've already told you Enid, it was just a nightmare"
-"you love nightmares"

Wednesday's pov:

Enid is being very extra right now.
-"it's not important"
-"you were scared and I've never seen you scared before. And then you started saying all this weird stuff about me using you for money?"
I sigh.
-"Enid I don't know what happened last night but we're gonna drop it. It's hasn't even been a month since we started dating yet it seems like we can't stop arguing"
Enid looks at me for a moment and it seems as though she's fighting back tears.
-"I- n-no Enid hold on I didn't mean-"
-"it's fine Wednesday. I mean...your right honestly. I'm sorry"
She says with a heartbreaking smile.

-"I let my emotions get the best of me and take it out on you, I promise not to argue anymore. Let's just enjoy the holidays yeah?"
She says, touching my shoulder then walking off to change. She lets her emotions get the better of her, but at least she can identify her emotions. I still don't even know if I'm jealous of Emma or not. Relationships truly are hard to maintain.
