Tk hates hospitals which his dad always said was funny because when tk was younger he found himself there more than the average child would be whether if was a broken leg, sprained arm, mental health reasons, burns you name it

But this time tk hated it even more because it was his dad who was hurt who was in critical condition and it just seemed like everything broke apart so easily

They had a call at a house earlier that day his dad insisted that he went in after all the structure was unstable and he didn't want to risk and of his team getting hurt saying that everyone had someone who was waiting on them praying that they make it home

But owen didn't take into consideration that he had tk waiting pray my that he made it out of there until the building collapsed and the whole team had to pull his dad out how he had to sit with judd by the ambulance because Michelle wouldn't let him work on own which he knew was for his own good but it didn't take away the sting

Now he sits next to Nancy in the waiting room his leg bouncing a mile a minute " I've gotta go call Michelle ill be back okay ?" Nancy said touching tks shoulder " you can go home if you want - im fine re-" tk said but Nancy cutting him off " your not fine im staying ." Nancy said

Carlos was at his condo making some chicken salad when his phone rang " what's up nance?" Carlos said holding the phone between his face and shoulder " your gonna wanna get down to the hospital ." Nancy said " is tk okay ?" Carlos said immediately stopping what he's doing " tks fine well physically at least.. Owen got hurt really bad on a call -" Nancy said " ill be there ." Carlos said grabbing his coat

Nancy went to go sit down with Tk "he's gonna be fine" Nancy said rubbing its hand " I wish we never we never got that call ." Tk said
"Me to." Nancy said

Within a half an hour Carlos walked into the hospital Nancy noticed him immediately but Tk didn't he was to zoned out Carlos walked over placing his hand on Tk's shoulder Tk jumped a little bit "hey sorry I didn't mean to scare you ." Carlos said softly "wanna go for a short walk ?" Carlos asked "I can't my -." Tk said as Nancy cut him off 'I'll wait and see if they come with any updates if they do I'll come find you ." Nancy said

Carlos walked Tk out of the hospital " how are you doing ?" Carlos asked " I didn't have a building fall on me so i guess I'm the lucky one ." Tk said rubbing his face "Ty there is nothing you could have done i bet your dad was glad it was him in there then one of you guys especially you ." Carlos said " why didn't you call me ?" Carlos asked softly " I didn't want to bother you i know its your day off ." Tk said "your not bothering me okay i wish you called because you looked like you were on the verge of a panic attack ." Carlos said

"Can i have a hug ?" Tk asked turning to Carlos allowing him to see tk's eyes how red they were Carlos just wrapped his arms around him Tk rested his head on Carlos's shoulder gently as a tear fell from his eyes " i just want him to be okay .." Tk said Carlos just rubbed his back "I can't loose another parent ." Tk said they stayed like that for a while " did you wanna go home and get changed ?" Noticing Tk was still in his work uniform "no not now i wanna make sure he's okay first ." Tk said "okay ." Carlos said as Tk wiped his face

Later that day Nancy had left and Carlos and Tk were left in the waiting room Tk just rested his head on Carlos's shoulder Carlos holding his hand rubbing the side gently

"Mr strand ?" The doctor called as tk stood up Carlos shortly following as the doctor approached "your father is out of surgery and is responding to treatment . You can go see him now ." The doctor said "thank you ." Tk said "I'm gonna wait out here let you have your time ." Carlos said as they approached the door "you sure ?"tk asked "yeah ." Carlos said

" hey dad .." tk said walking in the room "hey kiddo ." Owen said reaching his hand out " you gave us all a heart attack ." Tk said "you can't get rid of me that easy ." Owen said " can i ask a question ?" Owen said tk gave a questioning look "why is there a certain police officer wandering outside ?" Owen smiled Tk couldn't help but laugh "Carlos ." Tk called "what's up ?" Carlos said coming in the room "he figured us out ." Tk laughed "hi Carlos ." Owen said "captain strand ." Carlos said " Owen ." Owen smiled " oh sweet i get 20 bucks !" Owen said "what ?" Tk laughed "me and Judd made a bet he thought you guys weren't dating i thought you were ." Owen said "why didn't you just ask ?" Tk laughed "i wanted to see how this played out ." Owen said

"Your ridiculous ." Tk said "you two are adorable ." Owen said wit a smirk Carlos couldn't help but laugh

Later that night tk looked over at Carlos "you should go home ." Tk said "its late .' Tk said softly " you should go with him ." Owen said "your kicking me out?" Tk asked "you've been here all day and you didn't even change out of your uniform you need sleep and I don't need a baby sitter ." Owen said "i can always call security -."Owen said "okay okay ill leave ." Tk said "take care of my boy ." Owen said looking at Carlos "will do ." Carlos said wrapping his hand around tk's shoulder

Later that night they got to Carlos's place "sure your okay with me crashing ?" Tk said "i can call an Uber if -."tk said "no problem i get to cuddle you all night ." Carlos said "what do you want to where ?" Carlos said looking through his closet " do you have any hoodies ?" Tk asked Carlos gave him a APD hoodie and some sweats "thanks ." Tk smiled

They laid in bed tk's he's don Carlos's shoulder " you know I'm gonna steal this hoodie ." Tk mumbled looking up at Carlos " i have others ." Carlos laughed " i could use the closet space ." Carlos laughed "thank you for coming today -" tk said kissing Carlos's jawline "anytime ." Carlos said placing a kiss into tk's hair
