Tk was always anxious before a doctors appointment although he had shown no signs of the cancer returning it often took a while for them to pop up
Carlos quickly picked up in this anxiousness when he woke up at 5 am because the sheets where cold and his personal heater Tk was gone
Carlos wandered out of their bedroom seeing Tk in the kitchen sitting in the counter with his legs cross crossed while organizing the spice cabinet
"Baby you should come back to bed.."Carlos said walking over to Tk " I'm good did you realize how hard it is to find stuff in our spice cabinet?" Tk said diverting away from the topic at hand " I did not .." Carlos said as he watched Tk " why are you up ?" Tk asked not making eye contact
" well the sheets were cold and I didn't have my personal heater ..." Carlos smiled rubbing Tk's thigh " all done look doesn't it look better ?" Tk smiled
"baby the spice cabinet looks great but why do we go back to bed now I'll run my fingers through your hair ..." Carlos says
" I'm not really tired I was thinking about picking up an extra shift it's early and I'm up anyways so why not ?" Tk said "baby no you already picked up 5 extra shifts this week enjoy your day off ." Carlos said "okay well the pots and pans they should be organized it would make it easier for you when you cook.." Tk said " Tyler.." Carlos said getting tks attention " lets go to bed.." Carlos said
He got Tk in bed before heading over to his side "I'm sorry .." Tk said quietly "I'm not mad at you baby ." Carlos said " I woke you up .." Tk said softly "its okay did you wanna tell me why you were up yourself ?" Carlos said Tk was quiet he picked at his cuticles until Carlos broken the silence"here cmon ."
Carlos pulled Tk between his legs so his head could rest on his stomach Carlos ran his fingers through Tk's hair " I thought it might be because you have a doctors appointment on Thursday that your worried about .." Carlos said as he played with Tk's hair " I just don't want things to change ." Tk said biting his nails " everything's finally back to normal other than people asking me if I'm okay at work every ten minutes ." Tk said holding Carlos's hand " babe thats because they care ." Carlos said " and I know that but its not just us anymore we have maya now to and I don't - I don't want her to have to worry about that ."
" I was 27 when my dad had cancer and I didn't even take it well - she's only 6 ." Tk said Carlos thought back to the conversation he had with over a few days prior he understood why Owen didn't want Tk to know- "and I wanna marry you in a month and not have to put it off because I'm sick ." Tk said rubbing Carlos's palms "oh trust me your marrying me in a month and nothings gonna stop that ." Carlos said softly " your gonna be a great husband ." Carlos smiled kissing Tk's head " whatever the results are we will get through it together .. I promise .."
Thursday came and went it took the lab 24. Hours to process Tk's results so they anxiously waited for a phone call
"Babe my doctors calling!" Tk called from the living room
"Hey - whatever he says we'll get through it together." Carlos said "alright ?" Carlos Asked "mum." Tk said looking at his phone
"Answer the phone ." Carlos said softly.
"Hello?" Tk said " hi this is doctor K is this Tk Strand ?" She asked " yes - yes that's me ." Tk said anxiously as Carlos rubbed his shoulders
"Hi I was just calling to let you know that you scans came back clear you are still in remission." The doctor said Tk felt like he took his first breath in days " thank you ." Tk smiled
"Your so welcome see you in six months ." She said before hanging up
" see you had nothing to worry about ." Carlos said kissing Tk's head " now can you stop stress organizing the kitchen ." Carlos smiled " yeah ." Tk laughed
"We're getting married in a month -" Tk smiled " yes and I can't wait to call you my husband." Carlos said softly
"Can I help you make dinner ?" Tk asked as Carlos ran his fingers through his hair " as much as I would love that your gonna go take a nap ." Carlos said leading Tk to the couch "wha-." Tk protested "you've barley slept all week and you've been pulling doubles . You need the nest and I don't wan you falling asleep with a knife in your hand ." Carlos said " I wanna help you ." Tk whined " you already have everything in this kitchen is organized so now I can find it thats a service in and of itself ."
"Please go get some rest ." Carlos said "okay ." Tk said softly "I love you ." Tk kissed Carlos's cheek
"I love you to ."
